Another game from DeNa?? when are people going to learn that ANYTHING from DeNa is bound to fail... pay to win... buggy programming... crapshot customer service....

 

As a Transformers Battle Tactics (TFBT) player, I'm a bit concerned as this may signal the end. I mean, Transformers Legends was closed once TFBT gained an established following...

Ugh, until people stop BUYING into these I feel this will never stop.

Love the artwork but hate the pay2win mechanic.

I had fun with Battle Tactics for awhile. But once I was unlocking characters only once a month at best, I quit playing and deleted the game to free up some space on my phone. On a side note, I've been enjoying Fallout Shelter...but the cap on 200 dwellers kind of limits the fun you can have after a few weeks.

 

I wouldn't worry. Uprising never made it out of Beta.

 

So this game just got amazing. I downloaded it and took off a filter in my security settings so I could install it.

Not only does it work just fine here in Canada, it might as well be sponsored by MakeToys.

The first battle you play puts Prime, Bumblebee, & WWI Grimlock against Megs, Starscream, and Soundwave. The cons start kicking my ass with big moves, then they bust out Devastator (really cool short animation to go with it) I counter with Superion. I'm. Still getting thumped, then it makes you press a button...

That's when Optimus attacks with a cut scene of him attacking with the full blown BATTLE TANKER armor on to with the match.

Amazing. Juuuuuust amazing.

 

Just wait until Shockwave unleashes his Genesect cosplay on your bots. Or when you can become a car, which is not a transformer, just a car.

You can also get on Lost Light and travel through the galaxy after level 17 or 18.

In general this game is pretty much Rising in disguise of Battle Tactics.

 

So it seems there is some third party TF inspiration in Transformers Frontiers... One of the attacks for Optimus Prime is ripped right from Maketoys Battle Tanker!

There are lot of others in there too. Quantron, Intimidator, City Commander, Quadruple U, Sigma L. I can't help but feel Slag & Sludge are based off of Summanus & Muddy rather than the source material.

 

The only DeNa game that I play is FFRK, where they literally give you free tokens every day. I take it that their other games aren't so generous?

i only had 3 hours sleep after downloading this game haha.

 

I've been playing the game for a few days now. I've made a bunch of characters and lost a few from my inventory and I didn't know why. I think when you force a level upgrade on a character you use other characters in your non team inventory as raw materials. I've lost level 23 quad u, level 23 sludge and swoop, level 21 acid storm and a few others. The game is in Chinese so who the hell knows why I lost them. Going to have to be careful from now on when leveling up my team. Love the game, I'd pay for the game if it does come out over here and in English haha.

 

I solved this mystery today. When you upgrade the class of your character (second from left button of the bottom row in character screen), he will consume a bot or several from the same class, usually the weakest ones of that class you have (and the classes are Green, Blue, Violet and Gold, but Gold is probably not the final one, each of them can be simple, +1, +2 or +3, Violet bot has 2 available abilities out of 4, Gold has 3). The icon of the needed bot is displayed on the right, but you can change him by building a weaker bot of the same class (either by merging or consuming characters). For example you're going to class up a Violet bot, and he needs Arcee to proceed, but you don't want to lose her, so you can merge 5 unnamed Blue class bots and get a random Violet, then next time you visit the character's class upgrade page, the icon on the right would be not Arcee, but the bot you've built, so you'll be safe to consume him. You'll also probably get a pop-up notification during an attempt of consuming a bot, which is initially Violet or Gold, so you should be able to cancel that.

 

If only I knew what was going on this game would kick ass......
