Can't say I'm as interested in this than the last couple. I'm still not really into Thundercracker's characterization here. He's gotten kind of annoying imo.
I'm excited to read it. I'm lovin TC and his role. Love that he's sporting igear too. You appreciate the storms all that much more when you really get into the calm before
I'm just waiting for a TF to kill him with their bare hands. C'mon, you know it's the logical resolution to his character arc!
I think Blackrock (I think thats him and his name) looks all right which makes me want to see him in one of the movies. Of course I can't complain about Marissa cause she is one of the few human allies I like, and the only G1 human I liked.
I've obviously missed a lot of TF lore. Why is TC sounding almost--good--here? A screenwriter? Hero of Cybertron? What? The only thing I recognized that he hinted at was Megs being an Autobot, which I still don't know if he still is one or not. Admittedly I only found that out because his CW leader figure comes with your choice of faction stickers and I Googled why.
My friend, you have a lot of catching up to do. I'd suggest trawling through TFWiki to get the major bits. As for the issue... oh god I am so tired of this arc can they please leave Earth now guuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh Seriously. Nothing that Blackrock, or Fairborne, or Witwicky have been doing is interesting. And I'm normally not one of the 'I hate hyoo-manz in TF' fans, but everything human-related in this book has been leaving me flat. And other than the banter between TC and Marissa, I'm coming away not caring about any of those human-centric scenes.
Some of this groundwork was laid as early as his original bio, if you squint. By this point Thundercracker has built up enough bad blood with both factions that he's been aggressively identifying with humans. I think if he had the power he'd keep both factions away from Earth, but he doesn't.
Ok, quick thing. Decepticons caused a buncha trouble on Earth, there was going to be a nuking of NYC- where a bunch of humans, Autobots, and some Decepticons were- Thundercracker stopped it, and Spike shot Megatron with a fancy gun. This was all quite a few years back. Thus, to Earth, or at least the powers-that-be (the governments don't exactly like to advertise any Cybertronians being on Earth, even one they like), Thundercracker's a hero. He's on the outs with the Decepticons, but he's fine with that. He has a dog and writes screenplays. Compared to endless war, TC considers it a big improvement. Even if his human is a jerk sometimes. Megatron, right now, is an Autobot. The local Decepticon faction, lead by Soundwave, used that as a lever to make a deal with the humans ("All of that bad stuff was Megatron's orders, we're different. And besides, we just want your help building something way out at Jupiter, no permanent Cybertronian presence. And it opposes Megatron. That's good for both of us, right?"). Megatron is way out in space and really isn't involved with, or even much aware of, things on Earth.
TC has become a mech he wants to be human. As screenwriter he is not that good he writing about human relationships based upon TC's favorite show. As writer he gave Soundwave his script and caused his former comrade to quit talking to him. As for Marissa both she and TC needs couple therapy....poor Jonesy.
