We have our first look at TAV Stepper, he'll have a rather G1 - reminiscent deco (Jazz redeco, like the original G1 Stepper/Ricochet) and comes in a VS 2 pack with an unchanged TAV Sideswipe. Looks sharp.

Can't tell if he has a visor though.

Hell yeah! Stepper! Too bad he doesn't have an Arms Micron or the other Targetmaster that Roadblock didn't come with.

He looks good! I'm glad I preordered this set (I don't mind having a second Swipe).

Now if only we had a picture of that Swipe/Strongarm/Fixit set.

If the box art represents what we're actually getting (and after enlarging the pic and looking at it through a magnifier), the blue on his face looks to be one piece. To me, it looks like he could have a visor or one very oddly shaped blue optic.

 

Yeah, same feeling here.

Doesn't help that he comes with a no-change-Sideswipe, who I already tracked down the Takara release of (and paid through the nose to get the TRU exclusive version as well off eBay)...

The white shoulders look too bright / big as well against the black... Unless more detailed pics make this look better, might be cancelling my preorder....

 

It's a shame that all of the nice repaints TakaraTomy is putting out are only available in 2 packs. I would like Stepper, but that Sideswipe mold is pretty awful no matter how well they paint him.

 

Hopefully Stepper does come with a new head but the blue visor is looking decent. Alt mode looks pretty good. Bot mode.... I dunno.

I feel the same way with Sideswipe, the TAV version of whom I just cracked open the other day. I am just not digging the ten-steps-backward regression in engineering with the new RID toys compared with what came before (First Edition, PRID, Arms Micron, even Beast Hunters - seeing how NuRID is technically a sequel to TF Prime). My Swipes' shoulders won't even tab securely into his chest plate, resulting in floppy arms. Car mode is solid though and does look pretty, admittedly, but the bot modes. SMH.

 

Looks good but this is a missed opportunity to include a Targetmaster or even a PCC Minicon.

 

Might want to make a slight alteration to the front page. It's not a "more G1 head sculpt." It's just the RiD head sculpt with the visor down.

 

Neat. Jazz is one of the only good molds to come out of this line. Wasn't there a white comic-inspired Drift announced or am I misremembering something again?

 

I think the point of the [crappy] two-packs is to sell you TWO bad toys. Cause the RID line is mostly cheap feeling, so it's hard to get excited about any of this. I like the idea of Stepper, but I loathe it has to be an RID mold. This is almost as bad as a Titan Stepper. Or maybe just do a papercraft to keep the TM and make everyone angrier!

Cool. If the two pack was that Drift and Stepper, I'd preorder it in a heart beat. Shame.
