I still dont get this piece. I don't get the Starscream part of it. I think it looks nice, but not Hot Toys price nice.

 

wouldn't a 1/6 scale optimus be like 10 feet tall?

 

It's from the G1 Cartoon (Megatron's Master Plan) where Starscream was disguised as Optimus to fool the foolish humans

I see the resemblance.

 

I think the Starscream head can replace the Optimus one to go along with the Seeker wings but it doesn't seem as though the distinctive seeker shoulder structures are included  

 

Except it isn't based on that at all. This is more like the murderous Bayverse Prime being given a G1 body but likes to wear the skin of his fallen adversaries. He's like a robot Ed Gein.

 

I'm gonna jump right on that pre-order.

I wish a 3rd party company would make that Starscream stuff for MP-10 or MP-01. If they did a Megatron I would check it out but this guy is just too close to the other MPs, and then Ori Toys is coming out with one and there is Ultimetal, so I don't know.

This things going to cost and arm and a leg, right? I mean, this IS Hot Toys were talking here. I like and don't like this piece, I think MP-10 looks better and it even transformers. I do not like how simple Optimus' Maxtrix chamber looks on this guy 

G1 Optimus holding a severed Starscream head in the palm of his hand while wearing his wings and null-ray blasters seems a bit extreme, something more alone the lines of live-action Optimus, no?

That last pic of Optimus punching the ground looks pretty awesome

Pretty sure it is some what based off of that. They changed the Starscream head so that it can be attached to the head peg.

 

I just dont see the point. I know HT make amazing stuff but this was pointless we have 2 MP Primes that IMO actually do a nicer job and transform.

 

This is the only thing I like about this Prime. MP-10 is better overall, IMO.

EDIT: After looking at more pics, that Matrix is laughably bad.

 

I just take it as an artistic interpretation of Prime. There really isn't a "reasoning" behind it nor is it a piece that's suppose to be better than MP Prime.

It's there on the market to those who want it and like it. Hot Toys is popular and combine that with Transformers to make $$$. There are people buying this but it's obviously something that's not targeted for everyone.

 

You thought it was Optimus Prime but it was I, Starscream.
