If you watch the video posted by racetrack of budget starks daily video log, you'll see it JUST got released today in Hong Kong. Not sure if that means the us has to wait til.September but I don't think so.

Why would someone want this if they already have MP-10. I don't see much of an improvement. So Optimus kills Starscream and wears his part like a mink coat?

That's news to me, they didn't show that when the figure was first shown.

 

It honestly looms kind of plain. The matrix chamber is severely lacking.

 

This piece is crap and not very prime like. Prime is not an assassin. He would not decapitate Starscream. This is a terrible piece and not prime worthy.

 

I am actually really excited to get this. Mine is already paid for and i'll be getting it as soon as Sideshow gets them in. I get a really strange "beast wars" version of Optimus Prime from this. Like others have mentioned, the added parts don't make much sense. The Starscream head i can get behind because it appeared in a cartoon once...but the rest is a mystery to me. This will again spark the age old question, "why buy transformers that don't transform"? To me, it's fun to have insanely detailed representations of the characters. Yeah they don't transform, but by eliminating that aspect from the engineering of the figure, you can focus on a lot more details. Yeah you can buy the MP-10 and get all those details too with a transforming figure...but i feel this has an over abundance of details put into it and i really like how it turned out. He's also apparently pretty massive from what i've heard. I'm excited either way and can't wait to get my hands on him.

 

It would have been better if they had just made a Starscream.
Oh well, if I want a detailed OP or SS their are Masterpiece figures of them out there. I think I might get the new SS.

They need to stick to Ironman Armors and leave making Transformers to the people who know what they are doing.

It looks so garish and pointless and even cheap in a few places compared to most action figure and stature version I've been seeing throughout the years.

 

So, Starscream Exclusive Edition" implies they're making one without all the extra Starscream bits...right? Cuz the Optimus collector in me wants this like crazy, but I care not at all for the extra body parts.

 

No. I bow to Hot Toys, but for almost half that price, I can get a pretty good looking Prime that transforms...

No but there's an Asian "Megatron version" Optimus Prime with Megs fusion cannon and a few other accessory's. The fusion cannon is GI-GANTIC btw

Is this some kind of Optimus Prime costume that goes over the generic human doll body that Hot Toys uses? If it's a totally unique figure then I don't get what's the purpose of this toy. We already have the spectacular MP-10 who not only is plenty poseable and detailed like crazy, but can transform as well.
