I don't think it's likely that this will happen, since they weren't released at regular retail in the first place.

And if it would happen, they likely would stand out. For example, I expect all the silver on the chests to be replaced by dull grey paint/plastic, since that was what it looked liked in the cartoon.

If they made the stuff we love, they would be supported. The market only exists when they fall short. Whether it is cost, quantity, or quality.

It is a business relationship. Hasbro has made that very clear, and for all the love TakaraTomy gives, they fall short of any relationship beyond that as well. We give money, they give us product. It goes no further. If you think they have any respect for you, just look at FunPub, an amateur and unethical business Hasbro has endorsed and profited off of for years. If Hasbro had even one iota of respect or care for fans beyond $$$ FunPub would have been gone years ago. Not to mention all of the other corporate crap like the unethical factory practices that were exposed and buried just a few years past.

When they don't give enough product or the product in this case is randomly inaccurate to both the Animation and Starscream's established level of accuracy, they create a secondary market through their own incompetence or unwillingness. The KO's simply fill this market. If they want to stop them, they should stop them. It is not the consumer's responsibility to protect the holder's IP. They can easily destroy that market by focusing on the right factors.

We especially don't owe them anything when the IP holder treats it's IP very poorly in the first place.

Skywarp and Thundercracker are major characters in a Masterpiece line up, whether they had thousands of lines in the cartoon or not. The fact is neither have had a proper release yet, which makes it all the more maddening that they cost more than a standard MP. Higher cost + less accuracy + low production = instant hot KO market.

Since the signs point to these not being done correctly any time soon, I'm in.
