Thats not true. Its different paint detail but it isnt less. Please provide photo evidence showing there is more paint on all constructicons if you are going to make that claim.

And Preorders are actually still available at AmiAmi if people want him.

Probably other places, too, Unite Warriors box sets usually aren't instant sell outs.

Finally, more pics. They look great!

They're actually pretty even, paint-wise. The biggest difference is the lack of painted wheels on the Hasbro version, but Takara has less paint apps on their individual bodies.

Since he's not a MP I didn't know he even had a coin.

Personally I think if you want him it would be better to forget the trinkets in exchange for a cheaper Japanese retailer price while it's still possible.

Hmmm... I've never used amiami before. They're cheaper than HLJ... About $152 before shipping... How expensive is their shipping usually?

BBTS doesn't give early bird preorder discounts on official Transformer toys.

Well, elbows was enough to sell this to me so I'm in. Just hope I can remember when to pay for the pre-order as this is the first time I've done a pre with HLJ. Really hope the QC doesn't suck as well...

AmiAmi tends to be cheaper as far as (early bird) pricing goes but their shipping tends to be more expensive in general than, say, HLJ, I think.

Neither does HLJ. Doesn't stop them from having easy cancellations. Again, nothing's stopping AmiAmi from throwing stock back up on their site (sans early bird pricing if necessary).

The mindset of "it's just how the Japanese do it so it can't be wrong nor can it be questioned" is kind of a head scratcher for me, is my point.

I did get AmiAmi to cancel my preorder for UW-04 Devy but kept my one preorder at Nippon-Yassan. AmiAmi approved the cancelation without too much of a stink. It's just their general policy regarding cancelations is a noodle scratcher even if its means alienating future/return customers (why refuse money?).

This is the one instance I'm glad I specifically went Takara over Hasbro. These are really looking good. Also did not notice until now yhat the small weapons can store inalt mode.

According to my latest invoice for AmiAmi, MP Tracks by himself cost 1680 yen to ship by EMS. I'm not sure how that cost converts for the much much larger and heavier Devastator, though, obviously there are cheaper shipping methods if you're willing to wait a couple of weeks or more after release.

As much of a pipe dream as it was, given that they went to the trouble of remolding everyone's arms to have elbow bends, I was secretly hoping Takara might pull out a surprise by revealing a redone Mixmaster mold more akin to his G1 alt mode model.

I should really pay my NY preorder of two while the Yen seems to be dropping again.

The Hasbro version still cost me way, way less... but I can't help feeling a little resentful of all the improvements Takara made on their version. :(
