I wonder if he will explain all the differences between Hasbro and Takara in detail. Like what ratchet joints vrs ball joints and parts count, paint apps, and any other small details ect.

I just paid for my unite warriors Superion, even know I have Hasbro Superion with air raid (minus slingshot/quickslinger), so I'll probably go full on Takara for the combiner wars. I saw a Unite Warriors Superion review and it persuaded me. I'm sure they.ALL will look very good once in hand. And since I tend to put my toys back.in box rather then display its nice to have a single box they.all go in. I keep my bubbles on card backs half sealed still so taking them.in and out can be tedious. I personally think this line is a HIT! And I will be proud to own Hasbro AND Takara versions both of this line.

Is that correct that Hasui-san on the Hasbro Combiner Wars Devastator? Or did he just work on the Takara Unite Warrior changes?

Both. Take into account that Hasbro Devastator had to be ready for release by this summer meanwhile Takara is releasing theirs in December and UW Devastator has a higher price which the amount of retooling and new parts reflect.

Which masterpiece figures did he design? I find it interesting that he also did Devastator, since I'm putting it with my masterpiece figures.

They payed the same guy to design two versions of the toy and went to the trouble of retooling the production line in the middle of making the same character. They're going to a lot of trouble to have two different versions of the toy.... As a sunny day collector it seems like I might be following this trail of red flags to a nice spot for hibernation.

He designed MPs 10-21, with the exception of MP-11 Starscream.

It would be sweet if someone going could ask "What are the chances of making a MP Sky Lynx?"

I think it needs to be stated for understanding that these guys are the lead designers, not the only ones there. He wasn't the only guy in the design room racking his head how to figure Devastator out. I believe Hasbro said he worked with them to design Devastator so there were Americans involved as well.

He was the lead designer on the MP series for a while but again there are other people who work with him.

The MP line is doing just fine without him and will continue to do so. He made his contribution and he may be back at some point anyway. He is a very fluid designer, but Kobayashi is no slouch. MP-22 is the most amazing figure I own to date.

No worries, i'm more focusing on the grand gestures here. The draw of the generations line is that it will flesh out a character lineup pretty quickly with paint being the only difference between markets. The MP line can make multiple versions of a character but it's ok because the pace is galacial. The two lines fulfill things the other can't and mixing the methods is off putting. If it continues in a big way I'll take a break.

Just hope he returns to mp soon. I'm not into the effeminate design tendencies of the current guy. My main goal is the 84 line so I'm hoping he comes back after Iron Hide/Ratchet. I won't be mad if he doesn't though.
