I ordered one on TRU's website and it arrived in a massive shipping box that was easily several sizes too large for the already large packaging that Hasbro's MP cars tend to be sold in. What really upset me, though, was that there was not a lick of padding (bubble wrap, peanuts, anything) to secure Bluestreak's package. As a result, his packaging got all banged up s it bounced around this huge shipping box. It wasn't too bad, but still...these are collector's items. You would think there would be some bubble wrap or something in there. Here's a photo showing the size comparison of MP Bluestreak's packaging in relation to the shipping box. Please notice the lack of protective shipping elements:

This also happened to me with the last US MP Grimlock release. Does TRU always ship high-end items like this?

I got mine earlier in the week, and it was in a similar size package, but at least had one later of crumpled paper keeping it from bouncing too much. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't too beat up!

Huh... mine came in decent sized box with air pillows.

But my Soundwave certainly had the best packaging.

That's exactly how it was shipped in the box.

I remember when I ordered some Classic TMNT from them. Some of the worst packaging I have ever received in my life if not the worst. I would never have purchased them in this state. Very sad to see they haven't learned their lesson still to this day. I won't order anything from them until they do.

I literally received it in the same size box as you, but it was FILLED with air cushions. It's like they gave them all to me and stiffed you. I think they need to train their employees better. Almost everything I get from them is packed well and then I see pics like yours showing zero packing materials.

I appreciate everyone that took the time to respond. After hearing from most of you, it definitely sounds like TRU has some issues with consistency if nothing else.

To follow up, I attempted to submit some constructive feedback to TRU, but they disabled their old customer service email. I communicated with a customer service agent online via the TRU site's chat feature, and the guy I spoke with told me that they no longer have any way (that he knew of) to record feedback like mine. Really disappointing. I did fill out a post service survey that I eventually received via email, but there wasn't much room to really explain myself.

That is beyond pathetic. Sounds like nobody should shop there.

Saw 3 at my local TRU last week. Didn't see the price but I doubt its under $81 which was what they were selling MP Prowl for.

It's $59.99 with free shipping on their website. That's what I paid for mine.

How silly is it that it's easier (and cheaper) to do business with business' located in Japan to get these things? I gave up on TRU years ago and collecting got instantly easier because of it.

Picked one up in Dallas today. $59.99 retail. Used the 20% barcode on my phone (expires tomorrow). Used two $50 cards I bought for $40 each Well, $1.95 off the second card. So including tax, I paid $41.56. Despite agreeing the size of the box is wrong, I do prefer the aesthetics of the current Hasbro MP line boxes to that of the Takara boxes. I assume the figure has the Hasbro copyright emblazoned on the foot like Hasbro Prowl did? I can live with that. Eventually I'll regift/trade/sell my MISB Takara Streak, probably look for the Asia coin.

I need to get to a TRU tomorrow and use that coupon. I plan on getting MP Bluestreak and Devastator if he is still $150 in store. I got the same deal with those $50 TRU gift cards, so Devy will be a great deal using those and the 20% off coupon.

Also consider the TRU credit card. I think the coupon is 25% with that, plus 10% for using the CC on Thursdays. I'm not getting the CC but it is an additional option.

Holy cow. Just goes to show how incapable the US market is of supporting the Masterpiece line. That toy should not have been on shelves for two years.
