I love how making sense is really important to some people in a hobby based around robots from out of space coming to earth and turning into vehicles and animals.

This is from his 1986 tech specs bio.

Doesn't that sound like something the Combaticons would want on their team?

Only if everybody pretty much agreed the new looks were stupid and everybody wanted the old looks back.

I think we're at a point where there's a mix of opinions and Hasbro's been doing what they can to balance the classic with the new.

I was saying this as well when people were saying scale was why Groove was a Legends class. I didn't care either way, but was bummed that we may not get an opportunity in the US to have a Deluxe CW Motorcycle the other limbs can ride around on.

A B-52 Blast Off sounds like a great re-imagining for him.

Like why do people get their knickers in a twist over Groove being a Deluxe size Motorcycle when we've been having them for years but then suddenly the solution to that is having a Armored Truck be the same size as the Car, the Ambulance and the Helicopter.

Try all you want you cannot fix any scale issues in G1.

To anyone who really thinks this: no, Menasor sucks because of Motormaster. And that has nothing to do with a trailer.

All of those are valid G1 criticism. What you forgot is the one actual inconsistency:

Devastator -> Oh it's okay that Mixmaster is backwards, that it's not even the same type of cement truck, the lack of elbows and weapons on the Hasbro & SDCC versions, the general lack of detail on such large figures, and general lack of articulation.

That's the one real inconsistency. They complain about everything that's not G1 accurate, which is actually reasonable since they're fairly consistent about that. Except Devastator. That gets a by for some reason.

Those two should be corrected. It's pretty cheap to not even make them the same type of vehicles.

True, I hear ya. But at the same time, if Hasbro or at least Takara was really interested in G1 accuracy like it seems they are for paint apps, we'd all benefit from that. That said, it looks like there are hints that Takara may do for Bruticus what they've done for the others so far, which is release one unique, more G1-accurate limb than Hasbro does.

You have seen all the complaints about Mixmaster right? He's not getting a free pass.

They might, though personally I think a mild (not Swindle-level) remold of Rook would be better. - new head, Maybe track parts replacing wheels, and a big pegged drill that can either stick on the front of the vehicle, or into the robot's knuckle-cannons for drill-punching fun. :)

nah, i'm tellin ya, computron is the one hasbro is finally gonna crap out on. strafe as an aoe strafe repaint, afterburner as a chromia repaint, nosecone as a legion rid fixit rerelease, lightspeed as a cw wheeljack retool so we have one thing to like, and like we predicted scattorshot as a retool... but they focus on his third mode and make him an onslaught retool. oh, and the sixth member is a new guy, "Dook." he's just all the unsold rooks shittily spraypainted orange.

Well, for some people (myself included) it's not a big deal. It might be a different build but in the end, it's still Mixmaster, and he's still a cement truck. I mean, if Hasbro had decided "A cement truck has no place among these other construction vehicles, lets change him into a steamroller and call him PowerPress!" then I might be a bit more miffed.

Bringing the topic back to Bruticus, I don't mind that Hasbro used the Firefly/Slingshot mold to make Blast-Off, but the use of Slingshot's head is disappointing. At this point, I'm waiting for A) the final product shots of the Hasbro version, and B) whatever the heck Takara is doing for their version because after Groove and Devastator I can't even pretend to know what they're going to do anymore.

Like I have said, the logic behind Hasbro's reusing Quickslinger as Blast Off is because they had not made a mass release item out of the mold. Quickslinger is an online exclusive. This makes me wonder what will they make Brake-Neck into. The vehicle based combiner from G1 left is someone in the Technobots, so....Lightspeed?

Breakneck's already available at retail in the forms of Dead End and Streetwise, with Prowl and Smokescreen upcoming. They don't "need" anyone else for the mold milking.

I'd put money on Lightspeed being made from the Wheeljack version of Breakdown, since...well, look at him and then try to tell me there's a better option.

No, Brake-Neck has different head than Dead End. If Quickslinger that has different head than Firefly is repainted into Blast-Off (despite much difference in alt mode and head to G1) , there is a possibility that Brake-Neck MAY be repainted into Lightspeed.

I am not saying it's certain, but there's a precedence.

Just as many if not the same ones claiming Rook is acceptable and They're OK with Fireshot being a wannabe Blast Off. Not even the same crowd as the ones originally referred to. The same ones wanting Deluxe Groove and A Shuttle Blast Off are the same ones wanting an old School mixer.

The ones giving the free pass aren't the ones you are referring to here...

They're the ones that just don't give a crap. You made it sound as though the same G1 crowd wanting everything accurate suddenly don't care about a modern Mixer...that's not true at all, they are almost all still the same ones complaining about Mixmaster.

I don't mind Blast Off not being a shuttle.

One thing that irks me is in Combined mode he clearly looks like an Aerial bot limb. I still want the same outline of the original Bruticus, which was basically just a cylinder. Being a different mold would have helped this.

I don't mind Blast Off as a jet either. It's the HEAD that bothers me.
