You are assuming there will be a legal document from the courts stating that the following items are IP infringing and are to be taken as evidence. All FP can really do is say what is and is not allowed at their show. Their power and Hasbro's power ends there until a case has been brought against 3rd party companies.

Harmony Gold had to file a case against Hasbro to get the SDCC Jetfire to stop being sold. Unless Hasbro plans on filing a whole bunch of lawsuits against the 30 + companies.

Ok, I'm going to be blunt, but as nice as I can be.

Do you even realize just how ridiculous you sound in this thread alone? You're using ICE as an example, but they confiscate fake items. Actual counterfeit items used to defraud people. And most importantly, they deal with these fake items that are linked to criminal activity! These 3P items do not, and have not fallen into either of those categories no matter how much you and others want them to. If they were, don't you think....since they seem to be so on the ball with things, that these 3P toys would never have made it in such quantities into the hands of fellow collectors???? (To say nothing of it being sold online from U.S. retailers out in the open, and on the internet even!!!) Seriously dude....

Also, do you even read what you're posting? Do you even also read or pay close attention to detail in what you're linking to people? Or are you just skimming the information and then interpreting the information as you please despite what is clearly typed/written in the link you provided as having not a goddamned thing about what you're paranoia is trying to convince people of?

For crying out loud dude. PLEASE STOP THIS LUNACY AND NONSENSE. It's getting annoying to read.

You know what? Forget it. I got a better way to solve this. To the ignore list.

Also, ICE does a lot more than just look for counterfeit items:

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If you think they're taking the time to investigate counterfeit toys at Botcon... Well, that's a stretch. The *MIGHT* stop a whole shipment of counterfeit items from coming in if they can identify a container, but even then its going to be dangerous items (counterfeit light bulbs, drywall that can give you cancer, etc) not G1 knockoffs. And as I said before (and others have echoed) the 3rd party stuff (apollyon, hercules, scoria) would have to be proved to be IP infringing in a court and then Hasbro would have the rights to seek to have them seized at the border. Hasbro has done nothing like this.

They just don't want them flouted at their official show. They'll get sold in hotel rooms instead. Big whoop.

    Seriously?

You're asking Venksta to deliberately violate FP's instructions by selling you an item they distinctly stated wasn't allowed at BotCon but you want him to use an old bootlegger's trick to disguise the item in such a way as to be easily removed/altered so it remains intact and unchanged?

Are you crazy or do you just not care what happens to others as long as you get what you want?

I don't want to make people afraid its just that those people bound and determed to break the rules are being rediculous and don't think the IP thing is a big deal, it can be if enforced.

Its always better to be safe than sorry, or to loose your arm tattoos,ha.

@seali me: Can't find quality in 3rd party toys? What about Quakewave, or Scoria, or Maketoys Utopia or Trashtalk, or Badcube Wardog?

If you can't find quality 3rd party transformers, you must not be looking very hard.

Why do we need to buy our 3rd party toys at Botcon again? No one has been to explain why this is so important.

If you had bothered to read all 1500 posts and sifted through what was implied but never stated you would know the answer to that. Geez.

Just this once, I'll summarize it for you:

Some people feel that even though it's run by a Hasbro-licensed club, Botcon, as a convention about Transformers and for Transformers fans, should allow anything related to TF's whether official or unofficial, legal or illegal to be sold/displayed and this is important, IN the dealer room.

As to why they feel this way, it varies.
    * It can't be ordered online because they have to look and see the sealed boxes in person.
    * It has to be in the dealer room because they do not like buying out of hotel rooms.
    * Because Hasbro sucks for not offering MP quality at retail prices.
    * Because Hasbro sucks for not prioritizing adult collectors over children.
    * Because Hasbro is a hypocrite for banning 3P from an official TF convention.
    * Because Hasbro sucks and if it did not exist, then the TF world would be a better place.
    * Because Funpub sucks and if it did not exist, Botcon would be a better place.
    * Because Botcon sucks and if it didn't exist then Cullen, Welker and everyone else would happily be free to sign autographs all day for the thousands of people who want it.

Seems like a running theme. As long as people get what they want, who cares about rules?

And the first person that gets busted will cry that they didn't know the rules.
    Poor babies.

So, so true on all counts.

    Thanks for summing it up.

So in other words, it's not that big of a deal at all and people just want to complain to complain because they are either delusional or just don't like being told no. 1500 posts just to get there, is that a new record?

I can sum up that last part in just one sentence

Because it gives people an excuse to rage out on Hasbro
