I'm sincerely glad for those who still enjoy the movies, sounds like you'll get more of what you love.

For me though, my interest has steadily declined with each installment. I sat through Age of Extinction feeling bored and like I could have been doing something more valuable with my time. By the end, I wanted my money back.

If the TF movies are going to continue as more of the same, I have no desire to see them.

I'm expressing all of this without hate or bitterness, so please don't go arguing my opinion. I'm not forcing this view on anyone else or putting down anyone who genuinely loves the TF movies. If anyone is reading anything else into my words, that's theirs to look at and not mine.

Yeah but that's the problem for me. Like I have no problem with his TF films being big dumb action films, even if I've disliked all but the first. That's cool, I just don't go to see them. But if they want to construct a big cinematic universe rather than a bunch of loosely connected films then you need someone who can worldbuild and a craft good stories at a macro and micro level and that isn't Bay.
If it's just from a technical/production standpoint and he is uninvolved with the story elements completely then maybe they could pull it off.

Meh, I think I would have more fun watching a little kid play with his Transformers and listening to the story he comes up with. Actually Axe Cop proved that works, I would much prefer that, at least it would have some entertaining content in the story.

I knew this would happen. He did the same thing after transformers dotm. After tf dotm he said he was done, but then he came back for another and it seems he's doing it again. Typical Michael bay.....

No mention at all that Bay's directing the next one and already folks're losing their shit. This remains funny to me. Someday, the vocal minority will get their wish and Bay won't be attached in any capacity, be it producer or otherwise.

    But not 2017.

if this only means as a producer role, fair enough, but directing? no thanks. As much as I liked the previous movies, i just dont want to see anymore michael bay humour, cheating transformations and the same final battle again its just too repetitive. Bring in some new blood to put their stamp on it.

Was about to say the same thing - I don't think we'd have a fifth movie if the previous four combined only made three dollars and seventy cents.

You know that Spielberg is also a producer.

Yeah and if he had story input and was directing I wouldn't be complaining that Bay isn't the one to be leading the TCU. Likewise if Bay doesn't have story input and isn't directing I would be much more confident of getting a movie that won't make me walk out in disgust halfway through.

I'm so proud for being named after a movie that contributed to $3.70 in earnings.

If Bay has anything to do with T5 and beyond, as much as I love my Transformers, I will not waste my money on another craptastic Bayverse movie. The guy is so ridiculously overrated, it's actually sad.Paramount and Hasbro need to take off the bay colored glasses and hire a director and crew that are actual fans of the franchise, and give a damn about the Transformers characters and their story. That is NOT bay.

And absolutely no one is surprised that he'd found his way back in!

But seriously, I'm so desensitized to the Bayformers franchise, I'm not even mad. I prefer him as a Producer than as a Director anyways, so if he does take up the producing side of the production, I might actually go see this one.

Doubtful, but it stands a better chance than AoE.

Whilst the Move franchise has done so much to help push Transformers to where it is today (with the classics line and masterpiece figures) I would rather there be no more films if bay is directing them

1st film was okay 2 and 3 were bad but watch able. 4 was just so god awful I feel sad I wont get that time back in my life I wasted on watching that mess of a film.

They really need to get a new director and tbh I think a reboot would not go a miss, get a fresh view and perspective on there.

We have all seen how well the Marvel franchise has done not just with kids but with Adults as well TF has more than enough storylines to draw people of all ages in.

Think somebody already said it but Hasbro and Paramount need to take of the Bay tinted Glasses!

What a shock, I knew Bay was going to return, his personal Lamborghini collection ain't going to pay itself after all. I'm not even going to waste the bandwidth pirating this movie, I would rather rewatch Energon or read anything Shane McCarthy wrote than sit through nearly 3 hours of Bay antagonizing the audience.

At this point, the franchise is muttering the words "Kill me".

Hell, I don't even want Michael Bay working the clapperboard on this movie. We all saw what happened when he produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

okay.. as much as i've enjoyed turning my brain off and watching these movies.. it'd be really nice to have something more akin to what's becoming more standard with blockbusters, movies with cool scenes and a little depth.

i'd love something more similar to the avengers, the dark knight, guardians, x-men, etc...

with the amount of money these movies have made, the "robots are expensive to put on screen" argument that i've used before no longer works. it's time to make the robots the stars and let them be more than caricatures.

at some point (now hopefully) robots on screen is going to lose its amazement and they're going to need to give us a quality story.

also.. i hope they get rid of that morphing bullshit. the transformations are one of the coolest aspects of these movies.. to make the bad guys morph rather than transform is awful. it'd be cool if say only one of the decepticons had that ability, but to give it to all of them is terrible. .. so stop it.

4 started out decently but went Full Bay (******) mid-way through and then snapped the handle on the ******-o-meter when Prime went into space to kill his parents.

By the way, Lytham St.Annes is my home town. A blast from the past!
