The 484 is simple, 4 = for or from, and the 84 = 1984, which could mean he is a character that originally was a 1984 character.

 

For the 4-character "AO" codes, are we guessing that's a shorthand for the continuity they're from (given this is a TransTech story)?

I would be very surprised if they revisited a figure from 2012. I would go so far as to say I'd be shocked. Unless it's the SG idea mentioned above.

 

If those are true, then I'm a bit disappointed. I could have swore Pete hinted that there was something truly awesome and more ambitious than last year's Botcon which included a remolded Energon Scorponok with added headmaster to create a G1 Scorponok. None of these are even close to that level of interesting remold possibilities unless there is some larger scale figure which isn't going to be part of the box set.

 

Urgh, I hope it's not DotM Megatron. If only because I don't want a repeat of the SG Soundwave Headband fiasco with a Cape accessory.

 

Given that a smaller-than-Deluxe figure in a box-set is a little odd, I almost wonder if they're going to work in Oilmaster's shell somehow too...

That would be an impressive achievement, as a general concept. But remember, we're TF fans. Our "awesome" meters may vary.  

 

No expecting TFCC to deliver anything other than run of the mill glorified fan fic characters is crazy.

 

Fingers crossed for Battletrap as nothing else seems to float my boat...Oilmaster would be a maybe if that happens as I could use him with Magnificus as apart of Darkmount/Straxus' Decepticons in my collection....Stranglehold from the Breakdown mold would interest me if it could happen but doesn't seem likely...

I think you're on the money about Oilmaster-from-Swerve, but are you suggesting they might have a Pretender shell in the box too?! Madness! (And as ever, I only see colored pixels in that over-sharpened pic.)

 

I'm somewhat interested in SG Ricochet, but other than that, Nothing!!! I love that RTS Jazz mold!

 

I'd only be interested if he was in the true inverse-Ricochet colors of gold with black flames (as basically the entire internet suggested when we finally saw SG Ricochet back in 2008, and how they ended up showing him in that one flashback scene in the 2012 comic).

Unfortunately, the RTS Jazz figure is all red, and they're not righting their wrong

I was thinking that too.... and.... it would give the whole Easter Egg reveal method another layer as a hint in itself.

Starting to make a lot of sense to me... if it is a purple/gray Legends Swerve then the Double Pretender gimmick could still be intact since there would also be the little TM partner so that'd be 2 robots that could go inside a Pretender shell.

I'd be excited to get Break-atron and Oilmaster. Ricochet could be be really nice(almost wonder if they'd remold the spoiler to hold the gun in car mode). Packrat and Battletrap are probably nice, but I could probably do without them too.

I really don't have an attachment to any of these characters since I haven't really bothered following the previous Botcon fiction. That said, the idea of a double Pretender has me super excited, and I'm glad that Breakdown will finally see a US release of some kind although I already have the Silas version so I would have preferred the original. I do wonder if they are going to leave the molded Silas inside the chest or if that is going to be replaced.

 

A new Pretender shell would definitely be up there with the Scorponok retooling from the other year... ...that would totally make me want Oilmaster as well...but still with Battletrap thats 2/5...
