I guess I'm in the minority, but I like this way way better, I might have to try to get my hands on one.

I will definitely get this one over the Hasbro-version, cartoon-accuracy is what I want from these toys, but I'll have to admit I'm not really impressed with this one.

It's the same silver like the one on the Hasbro, not that it looks bad, but I wished they chose a metallic gray. The unpainted area in the "armpits" is still unpainted, and the unpainted gray plastic used instead of the red for the hinges on the chest looks cheap. The red hinges on the Hasbro, out of place as they are, still look better.

And I'm not a big fan of removing paint-detail on the chest, even if it's for accuracy.

That being said, I like the inner arms without the red and the side of the torso being painted red is a nice homage to the cartoon. And even if I complain about the lack of paint-detail on the chest and the gray hinges, it does give him a much cleaner Megatron-look.

I can perfectly understand anyone who goes with the Hasbro-one here if you can just get him in a shop near you for a better price. Since I can't and have to choose, I choose this one.

Ok, I've made up my mind. Still going with Takara, but I cannot say either version is "better" - they are both very good. I would have preferred slightly more color in the abdomen area of Takara's LG-13.

I am a Takara guy, but for the $36 I spent on HTS, I can't complain about the Hasbro version. Not really something I feel like double dipping on right now, but maybe at some point.

I want the red on the inside of the wrists, like the Hasbro one has, because it's reminiscent of the original Megatron. But I prefer the Takara chest.

Takara should have been grey, with blue panels (for red) like the original Takara gun. Or purple like (nearly) every Megatron tank Takara have done so far. Phil needs his Generations Archforce!

When I first saw the title I thought this was going to be a legends class version of the new Megs.

I'm sad that I was wrong, I want more actually awesome legends class figures.

same here. initially i figured i'd just pick up the hasbro version.. but the more i look at it, the better it looks.

takara just has such a better eye for detail, scheme, layout and toon accuracy.

Even though I might not import this, I have to thank Takara for at least one thing: I never noticed the holes on his legs before to store those guns. Now he doesn't have to hold them all the time.

Looks like a lateral move to me. Since I already have the Hasbro release, I'm sticking with that. If I get a second copy it'll be the Armada version.

both seem like valid choices with no clear better option. Might see how they repaint Armada megatron and I can see that differing in a few ways.

I'm getting the TT version solely because I'm more for cartoon accuracy colours. I've seen the Hasbro version and its pretty good too. It all boils down to personal preference.

Personal preference, but technically Takara is the "wrong" way, since he was imagined with the missile firing gimmick working in bot mode, so it has to be the configuration with the missile shooting-end facing forward.

In the end it's up to you and what you want. I kinda like the look of the turned one, but it's so short and the firing end is too long, it looks ugly. I'll definitely display him the way Hasbro is advertising him, not how Takara does it.
