I guess it's a sad indication of my collecting habits, but I'm glad I don't like anything in this line. CW is going to eat plenty out of me this year as it is.

I'm still not over that paintjob on Deluxe Jazz. I'd expect better on a Legion, let alone a deluxe.

Guess I'll see if my boy finds much interest in the line. He did really like the TV show premiere, he might want more of the characters if the show ever actually starts airing on CN. What, are they waiting for summer?

Sideswipe's alt-mode makes me think of WARS. Maybe that can be my Classics WARS.

My boys are loving this show and these toys. For that small sample-size, they've been hitting a home run with the shows and the toys. They especially like the 3-step Grimlock and Bumbleee, but my oldest is excited for Sideswipe (both 1-step and warrior).

You'd be better off getting either of the previous classics flavored offerings. One is currently available.

Jazz's car mode really could do some more paint work. Like the level of paint on Prime Wheeljack. As far as I know, the third episode will be airing on the fourth of April. For some reason or another, they decided to run the pilot again.

Deeply pondering these... I think I'll wait and see if Takara puts out Jazz with a decent paint job.

Huh, in packaging Fracture's minicon ejector is folded against his shoulder like his show counterpart. Maybe it can stay like that and just fold out to launch the minicons easier?

These designs just scream cheap. Hasbro moved shop to Vietnam and it glaringly shows. Clip on body parts anywhere they can put them, friction parts instead of a tiny tiny metal pin, hardly any paint apps at all, and now they've managed to even cheapen clip on wheels by just extruding plastic nubs from the body of a figure an?d slapping something round around them supposedly called wheels. Even the quality build of these RID "transformers" toys are so bad that pieces brake off (Grimlock's arms), just dont work (overbite) or in the case of my 3rd and most definitely final RID toy purchase, a wheel falling right off the front plastic tire nub. Even the plastic used is of a cheap quality. What a disgrace of a Transformers toyline.

I'm not really sure why, but I actually kinda want the giant Bumblebee figure. Looks like he could be kinda fun. That said, my final decision will largely depend on whether or not they're using Friedle's voice.

Which reminds me. I forget, did the Leader-ish-sized TFP Bumblebee use his voice?

What does moving shop to Vietnam have to do with anything?

Transformers toys aren't designed in Vietnam...

Ummm because it's now cheaper to make toys in Vietnam than in China now. And if they can make TFs cheaper there than why not cut back as much as possible? You don't think the powers that be are *not* thinking this way? If it were not for Combiner Wars I'd be out of this hobby except for the Japanese Masterpiece line.

How much the designers? I spoke with one of them last year at Botcon and he was the one that designed movie Lockdown. Outside clip on wheels, clipped on waist and legs, lack of paint, missing window pieces, etc. So obviously the designers very well have input on just how cheap they can make TFs these days.

I loved the various toy lines for TF Prime (First Edition, PRID, Beast Hunters) but I have to admit that the entire RID line just doesn't do anything for me. Jazz kinda sorta looks cool, I suppose, along with Strongarm and maybe Fracture, but that's about all that interests me, sad to say.

I ask again: How is this a result of the figurs being made in Vietnam?

Both the design shortcuts and the figures being made in Vietnam are the result of the same cause, namely Hasbro wanting to save money.

You're confusing cause and effect. Correlation does not equal causality.

I'm loving Jazz and Sideswipe, and they're good enough in the show that I might just consider getting them...:D

Shame RID doesn't get the same love Animated or Prime did in the toy line. Would love to have proper voyager figures. Interesting characters wasted on cheap shit.
