Fewer colorful paint apps overall and what appears to be a black tank barrel extension in place of the red missile.

 

What's the difference with the Hasbro one?

 

Huh, I might cancel the HLJ preorder based on that. It actually looks too drab, Hasbro's added color apps work better.

 

No red on the inner arms.

All red plastic on the joints cast in grey.

Orange, purple, and red chest detail paint apps removed.

Red paint added to the sides of the torso.

Some kind of black barrel extension on the cannon in place of the red missile.

 

Looks like they went for the cartoon abs decowise rather than the toy abs.

Intriguing.

 

But it has a grey missile still.

EDIT: There's no extender of any kind. Identical to Hasbro's.

The figure overall is just decoloured and underdetailed. Very drab.

 

Man, Takara, you are sucking with the paint decos lately.
Drab, dull, boring, etc.

Not only did you take off the red on the arms and abdomen, you also took away the black from the abdomen "control panel" as well.

Those broke up the color and you remove them?
Not good.

 

That looks infinitely better without all the gawdy red and bright purple & orange everywhere.

Pre-Order cancelled. I prefer my Hasbro version, which is a shame because I was planning to Autobot up one of them.

I will get the hasbro version I like it better than Takara.

 

Is it just me or does that offensively badly coloured shoulder joint is still orangey-red? Definitely not gray, at least not in this picture.

Anyways, I ended up cancelling my order to. He wasn't even much more expensive, but he really doesn't look as interesting.

 

As long as he still has the silver paint job, the minor apps that were changed don't bother me. Since Hasbro's version is so ridiculously hard to find, I may wait for this one.

 

I guess I'm the only one who likes the Takara version just a little better because of the more G1 show presence, hah. I just dont much like the red inner arms and red joints in the chest top on the Hasbro version, though I do like look of the Hasbro abdomen detail better.

I'll get Hasbro rather than pay double for something I can touch up easily myself though.

I skewed the image slightly on the Takara image to make it more flat, but you get the picture.

 

Looks better than the Hasbro version. But still passing on both so it doesn't matter to me!

 

I'm wondering if they'll do an Armada repaint?
