I agree, It obviously is better having the white there. I just think in this case it matters a bit more what they showed in the promo because it actually defined her face more. Now it looks off. If you really look at the two differences with the correct white there it defines her face a lot more. Having just the white stop on the sides makes the blue show more and doesn't give the same effect.

Normally a small change in the paint apps from the promo probably wouldn't be a big issue to me but this somehow does affect the head/face for me.

But obviously having any white compared to Hasbro's only blue is a big difference. Just wish it was more like the promo they showed.

For that I am curious. Does Takara veer off from their promo's much? I know Hasbro does. But usually I'm used to pretty much getting what Takara shows in their promo's. Is it common for Takara to change just as much as well?

As for when is Strongarm being released? I think these are shipping out either the 15th or the 21st.

What I noticed it that the Sticker/code thing seem to be bigger. It seem to be larger on both Bee and Strongarm. Just compare them to the Hasbro ones and they appear to take up more space. I'm wondering if they are peelable and can be removed and if the paint apps will be underneath... If like you said they are not used for a code for the app then I don't see why they might not let you remove them.

They do add so much. Everything ends up being more accurate then the Hasbro one. Specially the chest and head. I just wish it was how it was in the promo shots... :(

Huh? Hyperbole-off? No I didn't mean to come off sounding like "OMG IT'S FUCKING RUINED! RUINED RUINED!"

It is just something that was important to me. The Hasbro one didn't even try to get the face anywhere near accurate to the character. So I was waiting to see what Takara did. Then the promo pics went up and the pre-orders went up and it was perfect. Spot on. So I was very happy with that. Then seeing this, seeing the change... I admit it's a small change. But to me it's one that is obvious and IS a change. I guess to me it's important because it's not some paint app somewhere else but it's her face, her head. I think that small lack of white paint does chang how the face looks. Maybe it is just me, but to me it does change the face quite a bit. Because the white helped show the actual curves of the face and how it went. Now the white just is straight and the blue ends up looking like the dominant color. It also does something to her face. (making it appear wider? not sure). Wheras the white going all the way in and down showed the angles of her face/head. And to me the heads/faces are very important on a character.

I didn't mean to come off though like hyperboleing? Or anything like that. It was just a shock seeing the change. I thought Takara usually stayed pretty much close to their promo's. And personally I think it's not just some random paint app but an important one. (too me).

I'm hoping in person maybe it wont be so much of an issue. After all in person when it's not blown up by a computer screen it might not be such a big deal to me. But I really don't know. Maybe reprolabels will do some for the Hasbro one and I can just cut those pieces and use them.

She does look still way better then the Hasbro one. Never denied that. Her chest alone looking way more accurate with that paint job. I'm just sad it wasn't what they showed in the promos...

And if I'm not making much sense or explaining myself in a sense of trying to explain how I feel then sorry I'm not able to explain it very good. And if people want to label me or think whatever they want about me or like I'm making a big issue about nothing then that is fine. I'm not trying to say people shouldn't get it or be happy or that it's not good or that it's totally ruined. It is just how I feel about the change that it was important enough (to me) to matter. I'm still going to get it because I think it still looks fantastic and is the best representation of the character (So far) and I like what they did overall.

Nah, you're right, you're not really guilty of hyperbole. I might have been.... hyperbolic, saying that. :)

I know where you're coming from, small paint app changes can make a big difference in design. Not having that big, tapering field of white on the sides of her face does look inferior and less-detailed than the original promo pics.

Sorry to be a jerk, I was just amused by the strong reactions one after the other. But there's nothing wrong with being attuned to details on a figure.

She looks better, but man this mold really kind of sucks, especially in vehicle mode. It just looks like a poorly colored rectangle. No wheel detail and the poor excuse for a lightbar really don't help.

Thanks for understanding. And no I didn't consider you being a jerk I just figured maybe my first post came off too strongly or something. Wasn't trying to imply that "oh god it's ruined!" or anything. Just that I personally wished it was more like the promo shots.

Looking back at some pics I just realised I didn't even notice the white not being there on some of the first pics they showed or her when they showed her off with the other femmebots. I should have paid more attention. As just looking back at those pics now, she doesn't have the white on the sides either. And it actually doesn't seem as noticeable as in package shot. So I dunno.

Either way she is still awesome and still way more better/accurate painted then the Hasbro version. :)

Yeah, the RID vehicles are all incredibly basic and simple. And not in a good way. They're very rectangular, don't have attractive shapes and lack a lot of non-circular curves that real vehicles have. Transformers has been making up cool vehicles for years, and now all of a sudden it's like they're being thrown togther in Google sketchup in a few minuts. Strongarm's actually the best, since being a truck means lacking those subtle curves is easier to accept, but the lack of literally anything outside a shitty lightbar to give any detail past the absolute bare minimum is depressing. No running lights, no fog ligths, not rollbar, no winch, nothing. Just a block on wheels. Not even unique trim or shape/depth to the grille or bumper.

Bumblebee is the worst, though. For a "sports car" he's just a bar. The entire front half consists of just 90 and 45 degree angles. Ugliest damn sports car I ever saw.

I hadda feeling that TAV Grimlock will recieve mixed to negative reviews due to the design flaw, just like the Hasbro version...

I'm not the least bit impressed by their version of Strongarm. I was expecting full show accuracy and it's like they got to about 50% and just decided to stop. More than Hasbro, far less than the show.

Her kneecaps aren't even black ffs.
