Err, Prime mopping the floor with Motormaster while having a convo with Windblade isn't a good start for me. I'd like to think that the Stunticon leader is a little more of a threat than some nameless drones getting slaughtered on that TF Prime show. And poor Acid Storm has always been a designated punching bag.

Just saying, give the characters some respect and stop making it look so easy.

It took him a few panels at least, and we don't know that Motormaster is down. We just know he's missing part of his face

I've got to say, I've been enjoying Ramondelli's art a bit more recently. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like it's just a little more colorful and a little less static than before. He could still push it further to give his work a little more of a universal appeal, but I think he's headed in the right direction.

Prime KOed HunGrrr with one punch too in MTMTE, he is kinda over-powered.

I wonder if Prime's new body will be explained or just handwaved away.

And by Primus, IDW, do you want us to start a PETITION to get rid of Ramondelli? Is he Chris Ryall's godfather, old war buddy, brother-in-law that he gets work time and again despite being utterly incapable of drawing comic panel art?!?

i was saying that about punishment. it's no where near as bad as it used to be. he's improved.....still not the greatest artist on IDW's payroll but he's not as bad as it was during the chaos event.

Ramondelli is inexpensive. That should answer your question right there.

And also a fast worker and a nice guy to talk to. Neil Gaiman put it well:

"People keep working, in a freelance world, and more and more of today's world is freelance, because their work is good, and because they are easy to get along with, and because they deliver the work on time. And you don't even need all three. Two out of three is fine. People will tolerate how unpleasant you are if your work is good and you deliver it on time. They'll forgive the lateness of the work if it's good, and if they like you. And you don't have to be as good as the others if you're on time and it's always a pleasure to hear from you."

Hmm, can anyone identify the second 'Con fighting Windblade? The one who isn't Acid Storm

It's nice to see Offroad making his first appearance there.

I really don't think the art is that bad- I mean, every character is recognizable and slick, right? It's dark but that's just part of his style, the entire Hellboy series is drawn dark too.

It's just three pages, but from what I looked at, this is actually decently comprehensible work from Livio. I could make it who's doing what and knew who was talking, which isn't always something I could understand in his previous work. How the rest of the book turns out, we'll see.

Isn't this sort of obsolete, as we already got these preview pages (and one more) from a recent interview?

Mairghread Scott and John Barber talk Combiner Wars - Transformers News - TFW2005

No offence, but Mike Mignola's style is in no way similar to Livio's.

Having said that these couple of pages DO look like some of Livio's better panels - so I really hope they'll at least maintain that quality during the Combiner Wars crossover.

These are the same preview pages from the Barber/ Stone interview a few days/ weeks ago. The art isn't that bad here at least.

I've said it before, but I think Livio's biggest problem is his overly dark colors which result in way too many situations where the characters do not stand out enough from the background and/or are difficult to identify because their colors all kind of bleed together in the low light conditions.

Thankfully these pages seem a bit better when it comes to these problems, and I hope the rest of the book has a similar quality.

Nope all 3 pages that are in the itunes preview, were in the interview. TFW just didn't post the Scoop picture on the site.

Um, does anyone know how to make the images bigger to be able to actually read them?

I think the lighting is a major issue. It makes everything too much the same, and thus lighting can't really be used properly for mood. It's always dark and dreary, which worked for Zeta's killing spree in Autocracy or Junkion in Monstrosity, or the Dead Universe in Dark Cybertron, but there's never a happy or bright situation to give contrast, and thus the even the darkness loses its effect.

One of the pictures was in the interview. Both news stories have TWO NEW PAGES.
