'Transformers vs. G.I. Joe #5' Has Joes Versus Robothulhu

Thankfully only 2 wakes away. 3 months late. Can't give the man shit though, he's doing it all. At present he's doing both issue 6 and the FCB day issue.

Looks great as usual. Scioli has a flare for great panel work. Double page spread it kick ass, and just shows how Scioli takes compression to a whole nother level while at the same time keeping the pacing tight. Something he gets from Steranko( legendary comic book writer and artist). That entire DP spread would be one entire issue for most Comic Books. This is a classic toy comic, showing all the toys. I for one would love a Metroplex playset in that design.

No doubt, going by the art he did for issue 6 for the 24 hour comic contest, the man who frees the Twins and Blood is none other than COBRA COMMANDER.

Interesting how much hate this gets(still highest selling. Thanks comic book fans), yet at the same I fail to see how it can be denied that this is the truest crossover TF and GIJOE have ever had. At the same time nobody here, including me(and I've read my fare share of CB's) are experts on the medium to actually declare what is bad or good as if it's fact. Opinions are fine, but make sure we always add the "I think this comic sucks," rather then "this comic sucks."

 

so what's going on? is that metroplex? is cybertron transformed into unicron? why are the autobots now rats? and what's up with the quintessons? is fort max a decepticon?

 

I just can't get into this series. The artwork, colors, story and dialogue/characterisation just doesn't appeal to me.

 

Fort Max looks like Fort Max to me. Metroplex clearly has the color sceme of METROPLEX. Megatron is just using metaphor. And this is the first appearance of the Quintessons, unknown what Scioli is doing NEW with them.

 

Finally! It's been so long since I read the last issue I need to read it again to see how we got to this point in the preview.

 

That two page splash is stunningly awesome.

When is this out? I thought I saw on his Twitter February 14th. Is that right?

 

Oh thank Primus! It feels like ages since the last issue. (November, I think.) I'm cool with it being released every other month given the work Scioli does on it, I just wish IDW would acknowledge that fact.

 

Where is the goddamn MTMTE preview!

 

Tuesday, probably. That's the usual release date for previews, though sometimes IDW releases them early.

 

I know but shouldn't we have had at least an iTunes preview by now

 

this crap looks like a grade school art project, how can anyone stand to look at it long enough to even try reading it?

 

This is the only comic I can stand to read. It's so fun!

Quintessons as extradimensional eldritch horrors is the greatest thing that's ever been done with 'em.

That spread is so much fun I'm almost sad it's "spoiled" in this preview.

 

The artwork is SO bad in that series, it's not even funny.
