Have to agree. War Within Optimus Prime looks pretty, but holy cow, he's looser than my first girl in college.

Actually, the best part about this toy (quality wise), is the instructions. And they're paper!

I actually like thease so far. If you get them to play with frequently, then you will eventually get disapointed. But if you just place them ona shelf, then get them. I have mine on my desk at work. I may transform them once in a great while. But they do look decent.

I bought Megatron today, and yes he's flawed, but for some reason I really like the guy. I can't place my finger on why. Yes, his limbs pop off, and yes his joints are loose, but something about him just makes me like him in spite of it all. He looks much better in person than in any pictures I'd seen. If this is the worst guy in the line I can't wait for the rest of them.

No matter what, they will never be as bad as most of the SWTFs.

I got Prime and happen to really like him. Sure the joints are loose, but I have faith this line will improve over time. Prime faithfully reproduces the WW design, and the toy is pretty well articulated design-wise.

As for die-cast, I grew up with it in early G1. I am a die cast fan and am glad to see it return.

    My oversimplistic opinions:

    For display only: Both good

    For occasional posing/transforming: Prime good

    For frequent posing/transforming: none good.

I'm hoping they learn as they go with this line. Of course the easy fix would be to drop the metal content significantly, down to that of an average early G1 toy at most, though that would kinda go against the basisof the line.

These just showed up in CT.

    Here's my take:

Joints: They suck flaming ass!! Both Prime and Megs are floppy as a jellyfish pancake! Just shows to go ya, Japanese mold production is much higher quality than American. Which is sad since we invented modern die-casting and injection molding.

Articulation: Also sucks! Maybe Prime's would be okay, but the massive weight of his die-cast arms make it impossible for his poorly designed shoulder joints to do anything but hang, eunich like, at his sides. He can't even hold up his gun!

Megs is a royal assplie! He has no moving hips or knees! It is impossible to make him stand in any action poses. All he can do is stand straight up. His hips do not lock in place and will separate under a good breeze. His arms, worse than Prime.

Paint: Well, there is some chipping, but it probably happened when i was removing those damned infernal wires! I hate those wires!

The quality of the paint is pretty good in my opinion. Both look very accurate to the DW comics.

Metal castings: These are okay. Not bad, not great, but okay.

Plastic: Suck ass! Easily the cheapest TF plastic to date. Fragile as a Mo' fo'!

Despite these huge problems, I liked them both. I just wish there was more Q.C. They both look awesome in their boxes, which you can put them back into after you open them.

It is obvious these are for us 30 year old kids and not your little brother. I don't think they are intended for playing, they are mad fragile.

I will collect them anyway, even if they continue to be low quality. I do hope this is not the case, and H-ass-bro fixes the bad, bad, bad, joints and plastic issues.

Here's to hoping Jetfire is tighter! ( Raises energon goblet in toast)

Not to shabby! But not that awesome either.

On the plus side, they were only 5 bucks! Can't beat Target's horrible price system! Deal of the year!

    Destroyificator Prime

    old as dirt....

I just found and opened them. Prime is OK, but Megs...Damn, I just can't understand why they would release this thing with so many problems.

Funny thing is, I'm pretty sure all those toys (Cybertron, Alts, Tits, etc.) are all made in China..... after all, EVERYTHING is made in China.

You may want to dude. Mine's out of his, but only because the box got jacked up taking him out. Once I saw how floppy he was, I wish I hadn't removed him. Having said that, he stands alright on his base, but don't plan on any dynamic poses...

you do realize that no american touched your toy other than the ones dealing with it getting into the retail store in which you purchased it right? These are produced in China, look on the damned toy and see the stamp for yourself with your own eyes "Copyright Hasbro, Copyright Takara, MADE IN CHINA" maybe do just a little research before you deside to bash something ;)
