We're carrying on with our galleries of the Combiner Wars toys with a look at the new Generations Bombshell figure! Bombshell here is a Legends class figure in the Combiner Wars line who is an update of the Generation 1 Insecticon.

This new Legends class Bombshell is a great looking little figure. Right off the bat, his size and shape really evoke the look of the original Generation 1 design, and the likeness is spot on. He's got an excellent range of articulation, with the only thing that is missing being an articulated head. There's hints that at one point some kind of weapon mode might have been considered, like with Powerglide, given the gun-arms and 5mm peg knees, but nothing is mentioned in the instructions.

Overall, Bombshell is great and another strong release in the first assortment of Combiner Wars Legends. He's great either stand alone, or as a companion piece to last year's Skrapnel figure - now all we need is a Kickback to round out the trio!

Check out the gallery and see what you think of this Insecticon:

Wow, I never know that the original G1 Bombshell was almost Legends sized. Funny that since I have the TFU 2.0 reissue set but I never bothered with opening them.

Also interesting seeing Gen Skrapnel and Bombshell side by side. They look good but you can tell the level of detail has upped a bit with the new C.W. molds.

    SUPAH CLeeeaa.....you get it.

Beautiful as always Sol. Bombshell has definitely been one of those figures that I automatically pick up every time I see him. He's just so freaking fun. And I just love how you can fold back the insect leg kibble so much that you can give him an incredibly clean silhouette.

Now....please Hasbro....for the love of pancakes...please release a new Kickback.

I want a Kickback, too. And I want it to match Bombshell' s colors. Then I want a reissue of Skrapnel also with Bombshell's colors.

LOL! I actually think Skrapnel's yellow looks more in-line with the traditional colors. Take a look at the pics with the original Bombshell.

Oh man....now I'm wanting a "running change" Legends Bombshell that has the same yellow. :lol

Yeah, well the heart wants what the heart wants. Every time I look at my Skrapnel, I think his yellow paint is too thin and bright.

Great gallery, I picked mine up yesterday and am really pleased with him. I have painted his grey plastic a more pleasing silver, and it really makes him pop. Be interesting to see what Takara does with the figure...

More of a Maverick from the Megaman X series for me, but yes.

That "punch the ground" pose was inspired by one of Zero's moves from X4 onwards, too.

Was thinking about maybe picking up this figure, but given how quickly he sold out through online retailers, I'm probably going to avoid the brick N mortar hunting or online shop stalking to secure one of these. Don't understand why this guy is such a hot commodity...

Skrapnel was impossible to find at first, as was prime, then two or three months later both were bogging down the pegs at TRU and target.

I like what they did. Enough of the classic visual identifiers to know who it is at first glance, but also plenty of nice improvements as well. In many ways he seems like a better update than Skrapnel was. Oh yes I'll be glad when I can track this figure down.

Now fingers crossed for Kickback because it's so annoying when Hasbro skips part of the team. The size, the look, and even the colors are so nice I hope they don't leave us with just two out of three.

Which is exactly why the new Platinum reissue set is so not worth $100, or $80 or whatever it's selling for. Maybe $30 or $40 tops.

By the way, this figure is awesome!
