I would really like a remade Combiner Wars optimus since the first Combiner Wars optimus is beyond horrible and thats me putting it nicely that thing is no optimus it wishes it was but all it is a piece of slag that needs to be completely remade

now i want to see a Combiner Wars remade optimus and i would like to see Ultra Magnus, bruticus and a devastator in the Combiner Wars that would be freaking epic!

 

So, "Ultra Magnus" will be the core bot for the "Masquerade" Combiner? Not bad... depending on how the deco turns out, I'd rather prefer a bulky roided Magnus than a bulky roided Prime.

Yes, Leader Megatron is part of the Combiner Wars line, and no, he doesn't combine. A lot of the toys in the Combiner Wars series don't combine. If you take a look at the Legends scale figures out now, only one of the four is meant to combine, the other three don't.

 

Yes, but it was from Venksta. I'm still fairly hopeful that this is not the figure he was speaking of. He said it strongly resembled MP Ultra Magnus.

 

Leader Ultra Magnus is real. As far as this "white repaint" of Combiner Wars Optimus is, is not Ultra Magnus, based on the list and details I've seen.

Update Feb 1st - Recently just got a glimpse of a bunch of the upcoming CW figures being announced/revealed at Toy Fair, including Titan Devastator. From first hand look, he has all 6 constructicons, who are voyager scale, while Long Haul is "leader" scale and looks like hes on steroids comapred to the others. Anyways, while trying to get updates on Leader Magnus, there has been no news of it of any sort since last summer. My main and secondary sources have not been able to find any new details, or first hand info on seeing it or shown off by Hasbro at any of the recent Toy Fair or private events. There is a Voyager IDW Ultra Magnus now, that I have seen several photos of. The design is totally different from the Leader Magnus, which was G1 looking, while this new smaller one is very MTMTE looking.

 

I've just been assuming the 16 deluxes and 6 voyagers refers to unique or heavily remoulded moulds.

I think if you add last years Classic and Movie Generations together there were probably more unique or heavily remoulded moulds than 16 and 6. Given RID will probably have a larger presence than the back end of Beast Hunters did last year, taking away from Generations output. 16 and 6 new moulds sounds about right.

At the very least it might only refer to widespread retail releases and not store/online exclusives.

As long as it has a new head and chest or at least uses the motormaster chest. Though Rodimus as a member rather than four cars and Rotorstorm would be odd. Especially when Blackjack looks like being a perfect mould for Boss.

... its not like there a precedent for a tiny Hot Rodimus paired with a large Prime like guy.

Assuming every toy release has to be incorporated in to the comic, which I dont think will be the case, but if it is, Roberts writing Rodimus being forced to combine as the junior partner of Thunderclash would surely be the highlight of the whole story.

Sadly I think Magnus is more likely as I can't help thinking there would be at least a bit of Thunderclashes other colours in that image. The waist plate looks to be white and TC would I hope be tealish and the combiner head would likely be the same colour too. Plus Magnus would make more sense with Rodimus and the already reported Autobot set.

 

If that's truly Ultra Magnus I'm not getting it. We're supposedly getting a Leader version of him and this would be pretty much unnecessary, especially if is just a redeco of Optimus due that the mold doesn't fit him pretty well.

Plus, Legends Rodimus, no thanks. Decently sized Deluxe or bust.

 

Plus, Leader Magnus has already been spotted in TRU listings with the Protectobots and "Masquerade" deluxes.

So, if not Magnus... Silver Knight? Ultra Mammoth? Lio Convoy?

I'm still thinking it could be somehow Thundrclash because I can't think of any other G1 truck former that's white other then the white Optimus repaint for UM. It's likely that Thunderclash can have his robot mode be like his G1 design and have his combined mode be a white Optimus Prime or it could be someone new entirely.

 

For what it's worth, I know someone who has seen him, and I was told he is, in fact, fully G1 Devastator and is formed from six Constructicons. The person in question sold both her TFC Hercules and Maketoys Giant after seeing it.

 

So we finally get a new Rodimus and its a legends toy?

It doesn't look 'yellow' yellow to me, more white tinted to match the background color. If you look on Megatron's left arm, the same effect is there.

Is it my imagination or does it look like the White Combiners chest looks a bit different from Primes? Ditto the little visible of the waist plate. I'd put it down to artistic license, but all the other images are pretty accurate as far as I can tell.

That might be the thinking as it is a logical way to produce one more repaint/retool out of the Optimus mold. It's not like you can paint it black and call him Nemesis anymore considering Motormaster has taken his title back as the real black convey.
