Scalpers are gonna make a killing on these. Oh wait, they already are.
With the hype and pre-release samples selling on ebay for over $80, scalpers will be buying up as many as they can afford, or can carry home.
Even if by chance there are any left for the hasbro website store, that still means non-US residents have to pay scalper prices, or online stores that are already charging scalper prices. Because Hasbro don't sell to foreigners.
Here's hoping Takara ends up releasing their black version, like the way they held off and then finally released BT Convoy. Even if it doesn't have diecast parts, it would still be cheaper these Alt scalper prices.

Would anyone be willing to pick up an extra Alt. Nemesis Prime for me either at SDCC or through Hasbro Toy Store (once they are available)?

    Thanks in advance.

Nice bio. A little too fanwanky for my tastes, but than it's linked to the Binaltech story (somewhat) so I guess it would be. Still, having Nemesis Prime take out Megatron is an awesome idea... I just don't think that idiot Dr Arkevil (geez, what a goofy ass name) would even be capable of such a grand design. Now Destro or Dr Mindbender... yeah, GI Joe fanwank here we come... :D

When is SDCC anyway? Does anyone know how much they are charging for this guy at the con itself, or on the website?
And there really is no use freaking out until we see how many are produced and are available through the HasbroToyShop after the con, and what the scalpers leave us. I do hope that I can get one for a decent price after the fact, though.
My ALT completist stance may go down in flames this summer. :rip

If the SDCC and (presumably) Hasbro Toy Shop are going to be selling this for $25, how in the fuck do the online scalpers even have the gall to charge nearly $70 for this??!! Now this type of shit really pisses me off, fucking scalpers and their scalper bullshit. I know it's an exclusive, I know it's supposed to be rare (a fact that has still yet to be actually proven), and I know that scalpers charge for their "services" (and I use the term "services" in the same manner I would refer to a back alley blowjob for crack), but this is ridiculous.

Wow, who put that soapbox there?

I understand it's a bad deal, but can you get point across without cursing so much?

    Becasue people will pay it.

The 'scalpers' are simply reacting to demand. If every last person said 'No I'm not paying over $25 for Nemesis Prime' (Or Swerve, or some other toy) then it wouldn't happen.

'Scalping' as it is called is simply a potential negative consequence of the Internet being a convenient forum for fans of toys to obtain information about toys, one of those forms of information being where to buy a particular (in this case relatively scarce) toy.

Scalpers don't charge what fans don't pay. If nobody buys them at $70, the price will come down. I'd recommend sitting tight and waiting.

And stop allowing your grandmother to surf this board. What if she sees Ka's sig?!

Agreed. If everyone refused to pay the scalper's price. Wether the scalper is from ebay, is Bill from Bills Toys (sorry, his price was rediculous too) or AHQ once they found out this was supposedly a "scarce" item (which it may or may not be)... if people took a firm stance and simply said no, than the scalper price would come down because no one would be buying the merchandise. Unfortunantely, there's alot of adults in the fandom that have way to much money to spend (guilty of this myself) and will go to any lengths to get certain figures.

And if your grandmother sees KA's sig be sure to explain to her that Marissa isn't a 14 year old girl, but a 14 year old anime girl and that makes oogling her perfectly exceptable because it's fanservice. :lolol

I'd like to revive this thread to ask if the Nemmies sold at SDCC came with a bio card, or something. I received mine from HTS today, and it didn't come with anything extra.

Just seems odd to me to write up this bio and then disseminate it only through mysterious fansite channels.

Yeah i was a little disappointed when I got this guy and the bio was no where to be seen. I mean why go through the trouble of writing it if you were only going to be able to see it on HTS for a short time :(  They could have wrote it on the instructions somewhere. Maybe on the back.

Yeah, I looked for his bio as well. A bit disappointing not finding it with ANY of my opened figures.
