These don't look half bad properly transformed.

Though Grimlock feels too puny for what his figure is doing.

He should fit in with the Legends figures though.

I was going to say that these look like dog shit, but then I remembered that I am so not the target audience for these.

I've expected Grimlock not to be that huge so I'm not bummed about that. Wonder how he scales with TFA Swoop and Snarl?

I'm actually a little surprised how big Strongarm is compared to AM Ironhide and RID Bumblebee. It's nice and it fits her seeing how she's a truck. As for Steeljaw his arms look off but otherwise he looks fun.

Hm. The figures don't look terrible, but none of them look good enough for me to buy them. Grimlock is too small and lacks any defining features in robot mode. Strongarm has too much back kibble, and I hate it when kibble surrounds the hands. Bumblebee has somewhat of a leg kibble issue, and needs more paint. I expect a lot of detail got lost in the bright yellow. If not, then he needs more molded detail. Steeljaw looks plain bad. Nothing about his design flows well, which is a pity because, despite how much his robot mode looks like Shockwave, I actually kind of like his design.

Edit: On the back of the cards, there's pick of Bumblebee fighting people. One is Steeljaw, but the other one I haven't seen before.

Edit 2: Reading what's written above it, I think that's advertising a game. Maybe it's just a generic.

They look good for what they are, which is continued the simplified trend we've seen already. I'll give them a shot although I am going to be more picky.

Why does Bumblebee have a clear blue He-Man type sword?

They look much too simplified for my tastes.

    More money for Combiner Wars.

You know, I think that Bumblebee is growing on me. I think he looks better than any of the Prime series BB deluxe figures. If it wasn't for that huge circular app-feature insignia, I might actually consider getting him to go with my Prime collection.

To quote Ziva "In Israel, we have a saying. “Zevel Ze Zevel.” Crap is crap."

But, they could be worse, and the AOE line just painfully proved that.

Like Matty says, they're good for what they are and the cartoony proportions and non-realistic aesthetic suits the simplified transformation. I've said before that instead of all the different simplified lines for AOE Hasbro may have served themselves better doing something like this, that is figures similAr to the power attackers in complexity but without the action gimmicks so that the modes aren't totally hindered and give those the bright coloured decoes that have been applied line-wide and then just make the generations versions with the premium platinum paint jobs and really push the 'collector' value of them, putting the deluxes in boxes to better distinguish them from the carded simplified figures. Turns out that's what Takara's decided to do with the Legend's figures though they've probably overdone the box size lol anyway, I digress.... I think the Warrior class is going to be a happy medium and perfectly fine for figures that probably in all honestly don't need anything more complex.

Strongarm (chunky!) and Grimlock look okay, and Steeljaw's altmode is pretty cool. But I'll kinda echo what others have said: guess I'm not the intended audience, but I feel they went too far with oversimplifying the toys, which now doesn't really feel like it's done for the kids, but rather to cut even more corners in the production process.

Are they really printing the instructions onto the back of the box now too, Legends style? Ouch.

Why do people keep thinking this? These aren't deluxes. That's why they're called something different. Deluxes still exist but exclusively on the Generations line. These are a similar size to deluxe figures but are much simpler, hence they're an entirely new class of figure.

As long as stores here don't overstock on these and understock the Combiner Wars figures, I don't really care.

This. I'm already nervous because when Animated and TFU 2.0 were competing for peg space, a lot of the smaller Wal-Marts around me decided to dump TFU 2.0 in favor of only carrying Animated.
