Great review man, I loved your use of music, I agree, im a bit underwelmed by underbites vehicle mode, but I still like the look of the figure overall, I also think you might have sold me on one step strongarm :D

This. Stuff targeted to us older fans and collectors make up at LEAST half the brand's output in a given year. This entire "remaking G1" thing has lasted YEARS longer than I think most of us old timers really expected it to, and we've gotten things that, by all rights, should never have been made (I'm looking at you, Metroplex, and you combiner guys too)

Actually, RiD is closer to the 4-8 range, in general. The Warrior Class is the "line straddler" between the "kid centric nature" of RiD, and the increased complexity and "prestige" of the Generations line. Truthfully, few kids stick with toys past age 8 anymore, by that point, I think Hasbro expects them to be transitioning to the Generations lines.

Again, about half of the ENTIRE BRAND OUTPUT is generally geared to giving collectors stuff oriented to them.

What's your point? A Transformers purchase is a purchase for the brand. The cold reality is that what WE, as collectors, buy or not buy isn't going to have THAT significant an impact in the grand scheme of things.

If One Steps are really that unpopular or sell that poorly, we'll see that in the next few months as the market and Hasbro adjusts.

    So basically...jack squat?

TRU might end up getting some through Christmas, but I'm really not expecting any significant retail rollout at Target or Walmart until February-ish when they do their next batch of resets (though that doesn't preclude some early slips, like every year).
Keep in mind that TRU is currently getting the next round of Power RAngers stuff that has yet to appear at other retailers.

I guess I figured Rescue Bots was the 3-7ish line, and RID was the follow up to that. Generations seems like...maybe 12 and up?

    Spitballing!

I guess technically, that makes Generations the Equestria Girls of the Transformers brand.

    Huh. I'M OK WITH THAT
