For those who don't know Bill Mantlo, who plotted the first couple of issues of the US Transformers comic, has been in need of prolonged medical care for the last couple of decades following an accident.

Please support these auctions for a very worthy cause.

 

Very cool. Great cause.

 

Fantastic cause for one of the unsung architects of TF. Those first few Marvel US issues are just brimming with creativity and fun.

 

Ah yes, the man who created White Tiger, Rocket Raccoon, and the Micronauts.

God bless him.

 

Dammit, if I had money available I'd totally get one. Hope these end up with very high prices, it's a good cause and a great item.

 

I knew he created Rocket Raccoon but I didn't know he also worked on the Transformers comics.

 

A fair statement, given it was so long ago. But since it was pretty pivotal to the earliest days of the franchise, it's worth recognizing.

Someone should totally do a similar thing involving Rom the Spaceknight.
And as much as I want these... I really hope each and every one of them makes far more money than I can afford, to go toward Mantlo's care.

Are there any crowdfunding things going on for those who would care to give, but can't afford a hundred pounds? I'd like to give what little I can.

I hope this sells out for Bill. Great work by his fellow artists . As Hasbro owns ROM they could use him if they wanted to do something similar for Bill. If not in the very least they should induct him into the hall of fame. (My goal for the new year)Those first plots were pivotal and long lasting in what
we knew/know about the G1 Transformers .

 

It seems they're all sold out. That's good. This is a great cause
