The paint job is in no way crappy.

Enough with the "TAKARA MASTAH RACE" posts, please.

Thanks for the gallery. I am looking forward to getting him, he looks awfully hollow though, not unexpected these days.

Yeah, I was considering cancelling my Hasbro pre-order and just wait for the Takara one. This confirms that consideration. Hopefully they won't have the similar paint flake/chip issue.

EDIT: heh, seems I already had and forgot… ;)

Some of us don't really care for Takara's extra paint, and we don't find it worth nearly double the cost of Hasbro's version.
You may think the paint job is "half-assed", but some of us don't.

And Driskull98 has a point. All the posts that seems to basically say "Takara is perfect" need to stop, because they are not.

Let's tone down the harshness here folks. Each of us is entitled to our own opinion regarding the quality of Hasbro vs. Takara figures.

    Thanks.

Not this time; the Takara figure has already been shown:

It looks like a few extra tampographs and a darker canopy, but the paint appears to be the same.

It's not about having more or less paint apps. I don't really care most of the time who has the most painted areas on their decos between Hasbro and Takara.

What I DO care about is badly applied paint. And the close up pictures in this gallery really show that to be a problem. So for all of you people in a tizzy trying to defend Hasbro, just look at the dang pictures already. That is badly applied paint.

So Hasbro... Takara... doesn't matter. THIS FIGURE has some bad painting on it. I hope it's not representative of all them.

    Otherwise... looking pretty good.

Great pics, looks good with that awesome briefcase.;)

Once I get my own Brainstorm I'll do some minor changes to make sure it's properly fitted for both molds.

If I paint him black, he would like a lot like the batwing from Arkham Origins.

This, right here, is why I am not bothering with overpriced third party stuff. This guy blows the "Dumb Robin" right out of the water by being a "Classics" toy - an updated design of the G1 look, not mimicking the G1 design to ridiculous extent.
The tech spec gimmick is still there (something the third party cannot do) and I am amazed that even Arcana has head articulation. He looks cute with that smiling face.
Overall, great toy and I cannot wait to get it. Just wish I could fix the legs on my G1 one to display them together.

Pffft. Why would we? He is adorable. :)

I am only buying stuff from Third Party that Hasbro is never gonna make, like the Animated Huffer/Pipes guys. At this point I would not be surprised if Hasbro eventually made the DJD too, or guys like Ruckus or Fangry or Cattilla. If 10 years ago someone would have told us that we'd have an official Hasbro Straxus, Nightbeat, Thunderwing, Brainstorm or Chop Shop, we would have laughed them off. Now? I can believe an official Sparkstalker or Repugnus could be made, even - given time.
