Preview: TRANSFORMERS: MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE #34 | Comicosity That Magnus cover. I love it. Bluestreak's not very smart, though. First rule of seeing a severely injured person: don't move their body unless you know what you're doing! Really want to see what the full text behind Megatron says. It looks like an excerpt from "Towards Peace"
Ooop, Trepan. I can see it now, Trepan's going to try and alter his thoughts, Megatron's going to fight back, spending him further down the violent path and seeding his fear of mnemosurgeons.
I hope this will happen, and not Trepan shadowplaying Megatron. That would be kind of a disservice to the character...
Best comment I've seen so far about this issue is from the review on Seibertron "Collectively, Atilio Rojo and Joana Lafuente deliver one of the best visuals in the book. ...immediately followed by a reminder of why Atilio Rojo should not be asked to draw anyone who has Prowl's head."
That wouldn't surprise me if that happened. That I could actually see happening. This issues is going to be reeeeeal interesting.
I don't know what to make of Trepan's appearance here. I can't see Roberts having Trepan successfully do any tinkering to Megs' head but we know Trepan survives this encounter. I suppose we could see Trepan try and fail as Megatron pulls an Overlord and turns the thing around/breaks out of it. Could be this is what necessitates the invention of Trepan's Trigger. Still, I think this isn't going to play out that way, and I'm not sure why. And am I the only one weirded out by First Aid in alt-mode in the last panel of page 2? I thought his transformation cog was malfunctioning (kinda of a key point on Delphi the first time we saw that planet) and I figured that being fixed would have gotten a call out at some point.
I think it'd be more weird if he hadn't gotten it fixed, especially since if I recall, the only reason he didn't fix it on Delphi was because he was so busy. Why would standard self-maintenance be called out?
I don't recall it being explained why it wasn't fixed at Delphi. I find it a bit odd that being stationed there, with a doctor of Pharma's caliber, and he still never got around to having it fixed. I always assumed there was a reason for that, like it couldn't be fixed there/at all.
The Magnus cover is hilarious! Like the way Crosscut described the fundamentals of a bottle episode in said issue.
It's America. Before you go to the doctor, you have to Tweet and FB it first, otherwise it didn't happen.
Looks like Rojo has been practicing, like a lot! His artwork this issue is leaps and bounds ahead of the last issue drawn by him, I can see a lot more stylistic choices in the characters, as opposed to the previous wild and unnecessary deviations from established character models.
