As much as I liked TF Prime, my expectations for this show are fairly low, to be honest. It definitely has a monster-of-the-week, gotta-catch-ém-all vibe to it (as opposed to the admittedly tedious relic hunts that TFP often suffered from, especially during the second season, I guess). Still, I'll watch the show and see if it's enjoyable at all. Some of the toys (particularly Strongarm and some of the beasties) look kinda neat but I doubt I'll be going full in on the figures like I did with TFP's various lines.

If we don't at some point get a morally ambiguous or neutral character for Strongarm to learn something from then I will have no hope for any character development on this show.

 

Does it means Sideswipe will break the fourth wall?

 

So basically Bumblebee's a college senior, Sideswipe's a tryhard wannabe badass, Strongarm is an absolutes loving sith, Grimlock's a victim of racism, Fixit's gonna be a deus ex machina, and resurrected Optimus doesn't realize how stupid Optimus Supreme sounds.

My kitbash will be taking a regular Optimus figure, then and adding refried beans, rice, sour cream, diced onions, tomatoes, and Tabasco sauce. Non Transformable, but very delicious.

Not a fan of when creator's use 'they're just like 'insert already existing character here*' I don't know...it just seems...I don't wanna say lazy but explain the actual character without referencing another...*shrugs*

And from what I read I didn't pick up any Deadpool hints.

 

Sideswipe as Deadpool? I'm not sure to be excited or terrified, and I love Deadpool.

Also, apparently Grimlock got arrested for having a beast mode despite his dedication and service to the Autobots. Huh, I thought Cybertron would adopt an anti-beast former law given the Predacons and their abilities. Seems the Dinobots got caught in the crossfire.

 

I'll have the Optimus Supreme combination platter, please. Strongarm seasoned chicken into those tacos, then Sideswipe them with lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, cheese and pico de gallo. On the rest of the platter, Fixit so the rice and beans will Bee swimming in a Grimlock of red sauce. The Optimus Supreme is Preemo  

Dammit, now I really do want some tacos. 

 

Since Grimlock is said to be arrested for having a Dinosaur alt mode I can't help but wonder if he was with the other original Dinobots from G1 with possibly including both Scorn and Slash from AOE into the mix as part of a gang he lead and if so I wonder if they'll explain how he and the other Dinobots got Dinosaur alt modes to begin with since the Predacons were extinct long before the Great War. Maybe they're taking inspiration from FOC and have them be Shockwave experaments that escaped ad joined the Autobots?

Either way I hope we'll explore that in the show later on.

 

Well the bios are not totally unexpected other than Grimlock and Optimus.
So Grimlock's backstory is totally different from FOC and what not. Well i guess i can live with that.

As for Optimus Prime, hmm that new name just....... blows supreme. But i guess "Prime" is now the lower rank. Interestingly enough, "Prime" in TFA was more of a Captain's rank with "Magnus" being full commander. in TFP i thought "Prime" was the highest rank and "Magnus" was not a rank at all.

 

Theory: I think the name Optimus Supreme is just something they'll label him as because he's more powerful, not in association with rank. Similar to Armada and Energon Optimus goes from his usual form into some upgraded design with a fancy name like Jet Convoy and the like.
