My little Pony movie is in the works, eh?

Is that Equestria Girls 3 or that live action rumor going around?

Also, cool that they're naming their movie production group after a Transformers mytho, I think that's pretty cool.

It's neat that their new studio is named in honour of the relic used for their first major movie sucess from the 07 Transformers movie. :)  Curious to see how both the Jem and MLP movies will turn out.

Maybe this means that Hasbro will start taking more control over the film series, and what Bay does. At least, maybe they'll force Bay to go more G1. Maybe at best, this could mean Hasbro's planning on taking things into their own hands and...gulp...kicking out Bay and rebooting it for TF5? Got my fingers and toes crossed!

Yeah, well, they could've made MORE money if they made the exact product I as an individual wanted and nothing else.

They're making a movie about Jem? That's outrageous! Truly, truly, truly outrageous!

Allspark would have nothing to do with Transformers and GIJoe. Besides, why would they do that? They just said AoE was massively successful.

Nevermind. Hasbro's just as stupid as ever. They're just going to keep pandering the Chinese, because of the $$$. Quit makin' stuff for them! You know, I may have to kick out Transformers, and find myself a new fandom. I'll try out RiD, but the glory days of Transformers may have ended. Gosh, I'm glad Star Wars is coming back soon, and Pacific Rim.

Low prices? Here in Brazil one Titan Hero costs something about $40 dollars.
Let me fix then: "targeted at emerging markets due to their low *costs in production".

Translation: Wah wah wah, a franchise that has changed many times over the course of thirty years to cater to different crowds isn't what I think it should be, though the majority and target audience seems to enjoy it and it's not fair!

Relax. Transformers always has it's ups and downs. If you think the "glory days" are just G1, then that ship sailed 30 years ago.

Yeah! Stop appealing to anyone besides the almighty USA! It's not like the rest of the world is a real place. Having Transformers almost entirely Western-focused isn't enough, it needs to be TOTALLY Western-focused. How DARE they recognise a demographic I am not a part of!

This thread is delivering and it's not even two hours old.

I personally don't think the glory days of the franchise were G1. I think G1 was a cute show, and a good reference point considering it came first, but I don't think it's the best thing ever. I think that Aligned was probably the glory days, considering they tried to do such a consistent job of tying stuff together.

The reason I don't like Hasbro pandering to the Chinese, is because they have diddly sqat to do with the franchise. Japan and America, that's where it's at. If Hasbro seriously thought that China would enjoy Transformers more than any other culture, I have no problem, but it's obvious that Hasbro's just pandering them because of the money they bring in. And China doesn't care for Transformers specifically, they jusy like big action movies in general. It's just wasting a franchise on nothing but the hope to make a little more $$$.

That's been the goal since day one.

Hell, when TFs started, Hasbro was so cheap they couldn't even be bothered to make new toys. It was even worse for Takara, since they then sold TFs in Japan not ten years after they had already come out under different lines.

Every step Transformers as a franchise has taken has been towards a big golden dollar sign. And we're all holding hands with them, because money isn't some non-essential thing, it's the lifeblood of companies and franchises. It's what Transformers exists to make, so that it can continue to exist to make more to continue to exist. Like humans eating and reproducing, franchises makes profits and reinvent/branch-off in new directions as part of the fundamental need to survive.
