Didn't Rung say that Froid was dead? Bringing him back with info on Megs won't be such a good thing. Maybe bringing up Megatron's past self pushes him somehow? KINDA COOL.
Oh boy finally Bluestreak gets to have screentime just like how James Roberts always wanted in the first place.
My guess is that in a surprising twist our mystery bot will in fact be... Brainstorm! The real one. It'll turn out the whole time the bot who we thought was Brainstorm was in fact his evil twin Painstorm. I don't think that alt-modes are the best way to tell if it's an Autobot or a Decipticon. I mean look at the Stunticons (Civilian cars, traditionally bot alt modes) and the Arielbots (Military Jets, tradidionally Con alt modes.) Course it's going to be hard to tell, since everyone is drawn as a action master. I suspect Froid is less ethical than Rung, if he was working for the old Senate.
The whole angle of those two groups were that they were specifically playing against type, so it kind of supports the point more than it diminshes it.
Rojo's art looks good. He has slowly improved, usually I'm ambivalent towards his art style but this time round I'm looking forward for this issue. Also like some of the others have said Froid does have a resemblance to a Tailgeese II
Neat. Trailbreaker is reading Megatrons revised (again) treatise in the same issue we meet Froid who's going to meet Megatron in the past. If that's not the moving parts for why Megatron has revised his books (going back to the season 'premiere'), I hope we're going to learn a lot.
Another issue of MTMTE, gonna be good as usual. In all honestly just the mention of the Galactic Council had me excited again. I liked their part in the annual. I'm sure Roberts has something interesting to do with them down the road. Mainly I just like that the Roberts has expanded the TFU so much. but yeah, pretty sure the GC and the BBC were taking on the DJD.
Sorry, I don't see it. The problem is probably that on the panel where Froid exists the ship, he's surrounded by an outline, making it look like that rod of the ramp is somehow an arm-gun... He's very lanky, though.
Ugh. "Ofsted". Cue lots of smug nudge nudge winking winking from the writer. Please Roberts, spare us...!
Dinobots, prehistoric killing machines, agressive alt mode. Constructicons, construction vehicles, passive (Well comapred to dinosaurs). Warpath, tank, aggressive, Rumble, tape cassette, passive. There are too many exceptions to the "Con alt-modes are aggressive, bot alt modes are passive" rule for it to be very useful.
Seeing as - if I recall rightly - Trailbreaker was on the ethics committee, it seems fitting that this would have been on his To Read list for some time, at least in that capacity.
Another +1 for the Bluestreak fanboys here - finally, some pagetime! Has it really been 2 weeks without a mainstream TF comic? Ugh...
It does just a little. I'd love to see a Transformer whose design resembles Heavyarms or Deathscythe. Now that would be sweet.
While none of us could be entirely certain that this is what happened, some fans would call it just desserts and more might see it as balance. I think the possibility or threat of this happening to the DJD could be one pretty solid explanation as to why - as some fans have asked - Tarn and co. haven't already wiped out the Autobots or any other Cybertronian near enough that they didn't like, within the previous four million years.
I wouldn't go that far, but he's improved to the point of no longer ranting to myself (sorry, that page with Tailgate and Ratchet in 31 still haunts me even if other things weren't so bad). But, yay improvements.
But MTMTE has its own distinct style thanks to Milne and Roche. When any other artist tries (or doesn't try) to emulate it, it just comes off as strikingly wrong. And it's still difficult for me to reread #31 and fully enjoy it because of the art. Roberts's writing is fantastic without a doubt, but I feel like only Milne and Roche really "get" how to translate it visually. The only other artist that can achieve the style is Matt Frank, and can someone tell me why the hell IDW isn't keeping him on reserve as a fill-in? His art is delightfully characterful and it's a travesty he's only done two issues. Oh, thank god. I can deal with one issue of Rojo, but an entire arc's worth would've been supremely disappointing.
