Although I do like the Hasbro version of Windblade, the Takara version looks really great too. The differences in the face paint really make it worth double dipping.

Windblade really does look FANTASTIC. White face, proper face paint, red on the wings... it's got it all.

I'm not much for importing toys when there's a cheaper Hasbro version available... but I think I might have to for Windblade. I just don't like the Hasbro face; doesn't represent the character well for me at all.

 

I'm not sure how I feel about that light purple/lilac on Chromia.

looks like I'll be repainting my Hasbro Windblade then. Can't wait for better pics for reference. But cartoonaccurate or not, that creepy smile on Arcee is just too weird. Chromia looks good too.

 

Chromia is the one I'm unsure of...I'm getting Hasbro Arcee...Takara Windblade...but can't make my mind up on Chromia...

 

Went ahead and preordered all three at HLJ, will see if/when they go up on AmiAmi tonight.

 

I like Hasbro's Windblade much more...I honestly don't like the soft, "cute" Sarah Stone face. I like Windblade better as a hard, strong female character as I thought she was before the Windblade mini.

That being said I like the rest of it. I'm gonna get Takara's Windblade and then do a headswap.

Also I'm passing on the other two. Chromia isn't a huge enough improvement for me to care, and I realize how goddamn good the black looks on Arcee now seeing the Takara one. Also the lips kill it. Blah, those lips...

 

Damn Arcee has some big fat hips there!

Great! Can't wait to pay double for the correct paint job. Nice going Hasbro! Dumbasses! Who's the genius that decided to put black all over Arcee?

Remember back when Takara didn't have a totally different paint job for every release & only the packaging was different? I miss those days.

 

Yea, in short:

I like this point about how you imagined a toy's character was before reading the fiction. I know we're talking about fiction that *IS* a toy commercial, but did anyone else meet some of these characters toy-first?

I always thought the Hasbro Windblade head looked more like a "The Mikado"-ish male face paint. Those pics confirm it. I don't have the Hasbro version, but I've preordered the Takara one.

Uhhh...what are you trying to say here? No, I saw Windblade in Dark Cybertron first. Wherein she looked "hard" and strong, and she more or less took command. I like the idea of legitimately strong female characters who are willing to take control in situations.

So when I saw the art for Windblade, I didn't care for it. She looked too soft, and the story wanted to make her cute. Naw, no thanks. I'll just stick with the Dark Cybertron portrayal.

Well....yeah. I had Arcee and Chromia on pre-order the moment they went up. What's your point here?
