Honestly, I don't see any real incentive to keeping the BotCon attendee figure secret, either....

Imagine if they'd told people before this latest convention "and Flamewar is a free figure available only to those who attend"! At worst, I see no fewer people signing up to attend than those who actually did. People don't really come to BotCon on the imagined strength of the freebie, if they were otherwise just going to get the non-attendee package.

Or let's put that the other way around. Say they DIDN'T get the non-attendee package. They clearly weren't incentivized to get ANY package by the knowledge of a mystery figure, so no fewer sales could result from the "zero" such people represent. MAYBE one or two might have pulled the trigger if they knew. It can only help.

And, indeed, Flamewar's perhaps not a great example, as I don't get the impression that Flamewar was particularly well-loved. But if were known to be a figure that people really liked. Say, 2013's Starscream. That could easily have translated into greater sales than the mystery did. But it couldn't very well have meant less by letting the mystery be revealed.

At first I thought that was like a digibash or something, check the tf wiki....holy crap it's legit....how did I miss that?

I have both RTS Windcharger and Generations Tailgate. I think I like the idea that they have different molds on my shelf. Though I'm really tempted to getting that Wincharger. It actually works for me.

I agree with you there, I think knowing in advance could have changed sales.
