Sorry if this isn't anything new or if it's been reported somewhere else but after seeing this I had to post it. In a special feature on the Age of Extinction Blu-ray they go into the development of the toys, mainly focusing on the Stomp and Chomp Grimlock toy.

However one scene shows a very different Grimlock toy:

(sorry for the bad photo, took it off the TV using a pretty poor camera)

Granted the only official dinobot photo we've gotten is small but what details we can see do match up with the toy's dino head. Gotta say that I'm loving the look of this new toy and looks like confirmation that Grimlock will be the Dinobot in the RID team.

Dunno but...wow I like it. Almost has a little Animated feel in it.

That TF15 toy looks it could be a relation of Energon Cruellock.

Isn't that just that dino decepticon we've already seen in the preview?

Nope, the beast-thing from the preview is Underbite, who's four-legged and looks pretty different.

Well color me interested. If this is indeed TF15 Grimlock then I'm loving the aesthetic. Looks chunky, simple for younger fans and also potentially satisfying for collectors.

    No!

    Looks terrible...

People who held on to their Animated Grimlock figures might as well just hold on to it a little longer...

Pretty cool looking prototype. The design was definitely inspired by Animated Grimlock. Though it looks like it could transform more like AoE Grimlock. Assumming it's not one of the gimmick figures, like that larger Bumblebee figure we've seen, this could be an interesting and tempting figure to get.

Where is the second picture from?

Edit: You know what this kinda reminds me of? The original concept art for the show that eventually became Animated. Not exact, and it's been a while since I saw it, but that's what this makes me think of.

Looks like it could be pretty neato.

(now bring on a deluxe-or-bigger Strongarm prototype.)

    Lets see...

Looks like he has a very 90's inspired over-sized lower jaw and a rather new-school looking top-half of the jaw/upper part of the head. Almost no neck...

Ah!, I got it: It's the new Godzilla design from the 2014 movie.

They already copied the Tri-Star Godzilla design when they released Energon Cruellock back in the day. Can't any of Hasbro's current designers be more original? :rolleyes2

Color is all wrong to be Grimlock.
