I haven't seen a post for this guy so I thought I would share as I found him in one of the toy stores here in Hong Kong today.
Is he a re-release?

He has a few different hands that easily change out as well as his blaster and the matrix of leadership.

I was a little shocked at how purple he is once I got him out of the box. Through the plastic and in photos the purple filters to look much more blue than it is in reality.

Stil, I'm happy I got him.

 

That Pat Lee neck is sure to draw comments. Maybe you didn't push it in all the way...?

So, are these Legacy figures straight reissues, or is the paint different? BBTS has the first Dougram mech up for pre-order, and I'm wondering if it's different enough from the original to warrant me getting it.

 

Why does the neck look so weird? I had one of these back then & don't recall it looking like it's wearing a neck brace lol

 

his neck is wrong, can you push it in? because pics on hlj are different

 

Definitely not one of Yamaguchi's better sculpts. It doesn't help that he modeled it after Dreamwave art drawn by Pat Lee.

Passed the first time, passing the second time.

 

Wanted to get him first. But I think the pen Prime looks better. They are similar sized, aren't they?

As for the neck, this is as far down as I can get it to go...


I agree the Prime pen looks much better, even more-so in real life.

Scale is a damn thing to get people poor. Or to not buy anything at all  

 

Revoltech, if you won't make more TFs in this style at least milk the molds you have to give us just a few more to add to the ranks.

 

still not sure what's the appeal of Pat Lee's armored truck window frame windshield boobs Optimus, his neck alone could snap you in half

This thing would have aged so much better if they didn't use Pat Lee's art as basis for the figure.

 

The packaging looks great but it's wasted on a terrible version of Optimus

 

I still really like how this figure looks.

Still don't get why people hate on Pat Lee so much. Everyone used to praise him, and now everyone hates his guts. It's stupid. You can not like his designs - that's fine, but damn if there isn't a lot of hate for him.

That being said, Revoltech Convoy doesn't look as good as I remember it looking, but I might pick it up if it ever goes on sale (provided HLJ still has leftover stock). I got Rodimus, and it looks neat enough (although one of the hands broke trying to change it), but it's still a Revoltech - a line I'm not a big fan of (and a line that is getting it's last chance with me by way of the TMNT figures. If they are good enough, then I might just go for their Star Wars ones).

 

The fact that his art sucks isn't the only reason Funana gets hate. He also stole a sizeable sum of money from the people who worked for him at the time and in general is just a really arrogant person.

 

This may mean that the Legacy of Revoltech DOTM Optimus may have a different deco.
