TakaraTomy's official TF Twitter account has teased the future releases of Fembots - Arcee, Chromia and Windblade in their Legends line.

 

I'm excited about this.

 

Can't wait to see their version, especially the paint apps.

 

Yup, I hope Arcee is slavishly G1 and Windblade is like her comic appearance with a white face and red highlights in jet mode.

Ah crap part of me was hoping they wouldn't do Arcee. Can't wait to see their version although my wallet is already dreading it.

Man still nothing on Cosmos, Scoop or Jhiaxus.

I do find it odd that Japan is getting Windblade, but they got Drift too so...

 

Sweet hope takaras chromia doesn't have god awful transparent uncolored plastic like the hasbro one, would make a hell of a difference.

Takara Legends is more like our Generations line as opposed to the Legends size class itself. Windblade and the other Fembots will still be Deluxe in size.

 

I have the Hasbro Arcee and Chromia on pre-order already but mistakenly never pre-ordered Windblade so if I have a hard time finding the Hasbro Windblade at least there will be another option...

 

I love how the main selling point for these will be paint, not sculpt since we've already seen it, yet we get blank silhouettes of the sculpts XD

 

I bet they'll all have chromed chestplates.

 

I haven't ordered much in ages, and my BBTS PoL will have to ship within the next week. So bring on a handful of Generation Legends guys, the latest wave of four Deluxes and Takara's Trailbreaker/cutter & Hoist set.

I'm considering adding the Scoop & Waspinator in particular since it's on clearancem but have held off to see what Takara might offer. Same goes for Skids, must be patient on that one, if we get it at all; the fembots are likely to be the Legends line's February releases. So out of what I do have the only double up might be Windblade. I kind of felt like it was a bit of a drag that Hasbro's Arcee and Chromia (not to mention Brainstorm!) could conceivably be in stock a week or two after my loot ships, but having alternatives on the horizon - however they turn out pretty much fixes all that for me.

For almost every month, Takara's Legends releases seem to have a theme or something in common, with the offerings steadily catching up to Hasbro's Generations waves. Equally of course this means that the pool of figures from which Takara can make monthly releases gets smaller. As ever then, I am wondering about Takara releasing Skids. What do others think of this happening at all, and if so, when?

Apologies in advance for how Geewun this may sound, I have at least one theory on the figures that may be released with Skids. The G1 cartoon episode Quest for Survival (was more than a little bit silly, and) involved Cosmos retrieving Robot Insecticide (yeah...) to deal with the Insecticons after they beat down a bunch of Autobots, including Skids in the first of two cartoon appearances. To be clear, this would give us Takara Legends Cosmos, Shrapnel and Skids. The main gripes here in descending order of dealing with what we know are that this would be a tiny group in terms of plastic mass and that we know the Inecticons are each supposedly getting figures in the current scale. Unless Takara holds off for that, my idea makes a bit of sense; they've released Swerve with Tailgate, leaving Skrapnel and Cosmos, with the strongest link between even just those two being the aforementioned episode.

Come to think of it, if Takara are doing as I've speculated and effectively pair a Legends Insecticon with a Legends Autobot, then Bombshell could be paired with Windcharger. If I recall, he was one of the first Autobots to encounter the Insecticons, and so was Brawn, if that means anything.

That is a nice theory but if they are released in packs like that, referencing G1 episodes, It's gonna take about a year before they are released.
With only one of the 3 insecticons available, Bombshell teased by hasbro for next year, by the time Kickback is announced and then it's subsequent takara deco, I can see the release being quite a way off.
It is a nice idea though.
Given that Swerve and Tailgate are being released together, I'm thinking Cosmos may get paired up with another autobot, Takara Gears maybe? With Skrapnel boxed with another decepticon. This seems to be the trend looking at how Takara released Legion IDW Prime and bee and then Megatron and Starscream. Skids, I reckon, will be saved until they do a Takara Nightbeat (or Minerva)....

 

It would be hilariously ironic for Takara to try and make Arcee's colours more accurate to a comic that's not even available in Japan.
