I kind of doubt this is going to be one of those pre-beast wars characters for one reason. It still transformes into a beast. The other two (primal and rattrap) both got cybertron vehical modes which makes sence, why would a character that was already sporting a beast mode get to earth and get a new beast mode. Plus, no golden disk/chip. Before it was released that it was indeed rattrap, we still got the speculation from the chip. I'm thinking this might be something completlely unrelated.
People keep saying Airrazor. She was not in the original crew. She was a protoform in stasis lock. I hope the extra attendee figure is another Predacon ( preferably Megatron ) so that Dinotbot is not the only one.
Same reason a character sporting a vehical mode gets to earth and gets a new vehical mode They needed organic beast forms cause of all the raw energon. So they would need a change in form. So that does make sence.
This is definately Dinobot not all Beast Wars TFs on Cybertron have to transform into Cybertronian vehicles. There could even be mechanical beast.
...But given that he KNOWS that it isn't Dinobot, that means that what we've got here is a Botcon or Club Store exclusive. I'd wager on either Airazor or one of the Autobot elders mentioned in the story description.
... No, actually, the fact that he knows it's not Dinobot means he's SEEN Dinobot's convention toy, and knows this to not be it. Other than that, it proves very little else. The question to have asked would have been "Is this a Botcon/Fan Club toy?"
Actually, Pete@Botcon is the guy in charge. Therefore, he makes the decisions as to what the toys will be. So it's more than just a matter of seeing them and knowing what they are...
well I just hope I can snag him by some means, I will need that to chill with my terrorcon horde, regardless of who it is.
I thought the Botcon Beast Wars exclusives were going to be remolded/repainted Cybertron figures.... It would be cool if this Divebomb repaint is supposed to be filler for the Cybertron line. If not, and he is part of the Beast Wars set, he really should be Terrorsaur...and NOT have those colors in the pic. EDIT: And he should have a remolded head.
Considering it lacks two things for both the convention and cybertron line, I'd lean towards universe or some other offshoot type line. As mentioned, no golden disc. As not really mentioned yet, no Cybertron Cyberkey slot. Plus the inclusion of the energon star and weapons. No remolded parts really as of yet. This figure is odd in where it could go. But it doesn't really fit with anything currently being released.
I have doubts that it will be a con figure, for reasons already stated. If this will be released, I think it is entirely possible that it is part of some exclusive. Hasbro is bringing back Battlepacks for Star Wars for this christmas season for all retailers, perhaps they are examining the concept for Transformers? (a deluxe and a couple basics for $20 or so?) Colors looks as though they are inteded to go with Command Ravage.. It could also be an abandoned toy like the Drench and Smokescreen homaged Armada figures
Whoa, hold on. I am not the guy in charge, that's Brian. But, I do a ton with the Convention Set in many aspects. That said, as mentioned earlier, this toy is NOT Dinobot. It is a cool looking toy though....
