For our next gallery, we're showcasing Generations Nightbeat! The Autobot sleuth makes his debut in the Generations line as a retooled Generations Bumblebee, sporting a new head and a cool blue deco.

While Nightbeat does not do anything to address the issues we have with this mold, he does bring out the very best in it. The new head and the deco really set the toy apart from the previous Bumblebee and Goldbug versions of the mold. Plus, if you want to distinguish him still further, you can use the alternate robot mode transformation Million Publishing showed off for their GoShooter which gives a more Generation 1 look, as well as evoking the feel of a trenchcoat - perfect for a gumshoe like Nightbeat.

we need to start a fund for Sol Fury. That g1 Nightbeat is crazy yellowed, lol!

 

Without improvements to the original BB mold, this is such an easy pass.

 

Weird thing is, that one was never, ever in the sunlight. It's been boxed up ever since I got it nearly ten years back - must be something about my house that makes the old ones yellow or something! Kinda dreading what I'll find when I get out G1 Jetfire at the weekend...

 

Oxidation is a terrible opponent. Regardless, great pics my friend. I know many aren't too excited for/about this release, but I do look forward to adding a new Nightbeat to my collection.

 

Man I so want this. I loved night eat as a kid, he wad one of my fave toys and while I will miss the headmaster gimmick the character uses this mold very nicely. Hope I can find him and the others.

 

Can't wait to get this guy. Then the inevitable Reprolabels that will make that robot form pop! He needs more yellow around the lower torso and something to break up the solid blue feet.

 

I love the accurate character art as well. That Jazz mold would have been SO much better. Hasbro fails again...

 

Ah best use of this mould ever, Jazz just looked nothing like Nightbeat no matter how you paint it. I can't want to have this, really looking forward to the new shapeway chest and I am changing out that gun for something more fitting.

Anyways Nightbeat looks really great all things considered, I really must give credit to the fact the door kibble can be positioned like that.

They should've painted the rear window. Cool figure nonetheless. I want. Any sightings yet?

 

I know it has its haters (what Hasbro product doesn't?), but I love this thing. The Bumblebee mold makes for a better robot representation than the Jazz mold would have, and I actually really like that alternate shoulder transformation - it kinda makes him look more like his G1 comic form without making him seem less bulky or anything.

I'm actually pretty into the recent Generations waves. I'm pretty stoked for Crosscut too, and I'm coming around on Jhiaxus.

 

Why is he wearing Swindle's guns on his head? Cheaper than the original pistols I suppose...

 

I see blue, blue and more blue. I would love for Takara to release a more accurate G1 repaint of this guy. GoShooter be damned!

 

Nightbeat deserves his own, new mold. The BB mold is horrible. Even the gun is stupid.

 

I can dig it. Need a Nightbeat in the collection, anyway.

 

What's this alt mode for his bot transformation?

 

All I can say is, this mold fits Nightbeat much better than Bee.

 

it's labeled under the 5th pic. you just don't fold the doors up behind his shoulders you leave them hanging down flat.

i didn't get this mold for bumble bee or goldbug since i like him as the smaller scout so classics bee still works fine but i did mess with a friend's bee and i like the mold alot im happy nightbeat is getting a new figure and this one looks alot better than the jazz version. i just wish the chest had more yellow but i like it all the same. waiting for him to drop in my bbts pol.
