Well I guess we just have different tastes it's what I like when buy my Optimus toys. I just don't like my Optimus toys without his faceplate.

 

You see Optimus as one character. I see a bunch of characters. If they released a G1 Optimus without the faceplate, yeah, I'd avoid it like the plague. Are they doing that here? No.

Okay, my taste in Optimus toys is different than yours. But not in the way you mean. I just like my Optimus toys to best represent the Optimus they are supposed to be.

also, forget just talking about G1... there have been few optimii who haven't had a faceplate over the years in general. it's up there with "optimus is a truck" for iconic design elements.

So basically: How to destroy the Transformers franchise

Step 1: Say that you want G1.
Classics/Universe/Generations is made.

Step 2: Say that you want Michael Bay dead for "ruining" Transformers.
TF Prime is made.

Step 3: You hate Prime for being like Bay's TFs. Then change your mind and say that you want more Prime.
You like it.

Step 4: You STILL like it. Then you say Predacons Rising sucks.
RiD 2015 goes in production.

Step 5: Say that the designs look crappy and that it's "ruining" Transformers.
Combiner Wars.

Step 6: Say that TF Prime is an insult to the community and you want G1 again.

You have officially made Hasbro as confused as a donkey and Transformers ends.
That's how I see this thread.

 

Yeah, that's one of the reasons I really wanted it, if any one just wants the evasion and not the classics mold let me know.

so guessing another couple of weeks and about $20 more by the time it hits the East coast. Could someone upload a receipt at the 39.99 price point in case they do this? Worked for me last time with MP Grimlock.

And anyways, for the people complaining about him not having a faceplate, there's a reason its called an evolution pack, to show off the movie prime, which barely ever does use the faceplate in the movies. And if anybody really does want a version with a faceplate, then there's plenty of options. The Kmart Optimus/Grimlock pack and the autobot 5 pack (which might be pricy) all come with the faceplate. This set is still great, and rather than paying the ridiculous prices rn for the classics voyager prime, this set, and the newly decoed prime, are a must have in my books.

 

I don't understand the paint job on the Evasion mode Optimus?

 

it's supposed to be the blue Westernstar color scheme in robot mode.. I think.. Not totally sure about the alt mode.

 

I think it's meant to evoke movie 1 Optimus's colors.

 

No way that's why i'm getting this set - there are plenty of non-chrome options out there without having to strip this one.
