Then the Autobots would still be hunted down and Galvatron would have more time to build an army and take over. Also it could've lead Galvatron and his army going after Lockdown and his crew for the seed, which could have been a disaster. Galvatron would probably find the Dinobots and either; kill them, enslave them, or set them free to cause destruction and be a diversion.

Plus Optimus would still be at Cade's barn, probably chilling and calling the Autobots to reunite, not knowing Galvatron is out there causing destruction.

So that means Lucas' selfish act for money was good as well...kinda.

Well, Cade was originally thinking of handing Optimus over to the authorities, then he changed his mind.

That's what human beings do, they make mistakes.

    No.. Not really...

Lucas calling Cementary Wind essentially made the barn attack occur sooner, forcing Optimus out of hiding and into public view. While Galvatron was effectively active, he didn't have the ability to rise-up against the humans without the potential of gaining 'The Seed' as shown in the final battle where his minions are pretty much easily defeated except for Stinger. Galvatron was waiting for Optimus's discovery, as Galvatron needed Optimus to be captured in order for the humans (And thus Galvatron) to gain the 'seed' from Lockdown.

In all honesty if Lucas hadn't notified Cemetery Wind then all the humans honestly could have just remained where they were. It is only due to Lucas that they are chased in the film. Remove Lucas from the movie and you'd have no reason for the humans to actually remain with the Autobots after the farm. Lucas is personally responsible for the lives of himself, Tessa and Cade being threatened and hunted.

If not ratted out by Lucas, Optimus and the other Autobots would have been able to regroup without being chased and would have left the planet, thus meaning that Lockdown would have left Earth alone and gone after them - severing his deal with Attinger. Galvatron, while still on Earth, would have a massively reduced opportunity for an army and as shown in the prior films the human military is now able to take down Decepticons easily.

Lucas is not only one of the most selfish, unlikeable and dumb characters in the series, but he also endangers the lives of all the Autobots along with Cade and Tessa.

Scorp! I can't agree, you're basing your story progression too much on Logical sense! ;)

Yeesh, you guys can hate on comic relief, can you? First the Twins for being caricatures and now Lucas for almost nearly getting Cade and Tessa killed.

Lucas is stupid, but I'd not say selfish or unlikeable. He expected a simple capture and a reward to help out his friends, but it looks like CW was going to kill the Yeagers and him to silence them or something even after their assistance. So it was definitely a move made out of stupidity, but it doesn't mean he's a bad person.
In any case without Lucas the plot wouldn't have been set in motion.

I liked Lucas! Partly because he drove a Mini, but also his motives made sense, and his humour was palatable. But I think he died at the right time. A whole movie with him might have got old! The Autobots filled the comic relief void quite well!

I totally agree with this. Very well said.

Also, he made the phone call even after being asked twice not to.

Hmmmm, I wonder if Megatron/Galvatron is the one who informed Lockdown where Optimus was and, somehow, used KSI and their connections with the government to connect him with Attinger. This sentence "Galvatron was waiting for Optimus's discovery, as Galvatron needed Optimus to be captured in order for the humans (And thus Galvatron) to gain the 'seed' from Lockdown." made me think of that.

    Fucking Lucas.

I just wished they insulted him after his death, he truly deserved everything that happened to him.

    Absolutely agree!

Recently I have thoughts about why people in the Films so uninterested in extraterrestrials but we all so like some rumors and legends about them (for example Roswell syndrome and Petrozavodsk phenomenon) but then I thought that most people - my brothers, my mom, my uncle and several my friends - wouldn't want to know anything about aliens except that they exist!:(  They would continue do their ordinary deals!

As shocked as I was when Lucas died, I definitely felt relieved. Had he lived he could have been another Leo if not worse.

Interesting. I thought you were going to suggest Lucas shouldn't have invited those CIA guys but It would've been a more boring movie if he hadnt

Thank god that the comic relief of this film was killed, because if Lucas survived he would of just made the movie look like a comedy routine.
