To be honest I found most of the product placement scenes humorous, with the funniest being the milk. The Bud Lite one was the only one that kinda halfway took me out of it because at that point the action stopped for a minute just so a bunch of BL cans can be showcased and the main actor picks one up and fucking drinks from it. It was literally a mini commercial in an already 2hr long toy commercial.

Not sure what the big deal about product placement is.

I cannot leave my home without seeing billboards, signs, logos, etc literally everywhere I look.

NOT including it would be less realistic to be perfectly honest.

We're talking about a movie where every shot of any of the main characters (or bad guys) is a product placement shot.

    Get over it.

I don't think product placement itself is the issue here, more how it was handled. Most people understand that movies need it to some degree and generally speaking it's not obstructive or distracting, it's just there, like it is in everyday life. It's when there's a really obvious focus on it, especially as I said in an earlier post, when the movie tries to make light of it. Which is fine for a comedy, but not so much when it's meant to be a mostly serious movie.

I found the milk scene annoying in a different way – as deliberately conspicuous as it was – because with the stupid elevator fight before it it just took up so much god damn time.

I'm curious as to how TF's product placement compares to other films'.

I suppose you could count each superhero movie as a comic advert, even though that's not so much "placement" as it is "adaptation".
