I'm still in a personal debate as to whether or not Cybertron, in DOTM was destroyed or the visual effects we saw were just the result of going back through the space bridge. I fail to see how knocking out one pillar can trigger a planet wide explosion. I wonder if, because movie Cybertron is much bigger in scale to G1 cybertron, there is a massive chunk missing, like so; Apologies if this has been answered before, I did search the forum but nothing of relevance came up, Was Cybertron's destruction confirmed?
It's Bayformers... if they have a need for it in TF5 or TF6... it'll be back. If not... I bet it's gone with little to no mention in the future films.
lol too funny i bet if they do indeed visit it there will be a chunk missing that was destroyed in DOTM. kinda ironic how movie prime destroyed cybertron and movie megatron saved earth.
I figured it was going to be a homage to the missing chunk of Cybertron from the sunbow cartoon, too. Like it'd pan back to Cybertron, back in it's place in it's own galaxy, and we'd see something similar. I didn't think of it as destroyed, as only about 25% of it seemed visible in DOTM, and the epicenter of the implosion seemed to just be the very bottom. But it seems a lot of people think of it as being destroyed outright.
If no one mentioned Cybertron in the final scene of DOTM or in any scene in AOE then it's safe to assume, 1) It is destroyed, Kruger is lazy. 2) It survived as no one is upset.
It exploded in on itself, I'm pretty sure it's gone. If it were to come back, they'd have to explain how it survived it's own black hole/whirlpool explosion.
technically it wasn't a black hole. .. but i'm not sure it had that reaction in the first place considering the first time the control pillar was shot down it didn't do that.. who knows i imagine though, if you were to bring an entire planet through a wormhole, and cut off the worm hole mid entry, it'd destroy at least the part that was already through. lastly.. planets in the universe tend to travel very fast.. so, i'm not sure why it was taking so long for cybertron to enter our solar system.. i think we need to interview neil degrasse tyson and get his opinion lol.
I thought it was destroyed. To me, it could be a reason why the Quintessons sent Lockdown after Optimus, they are mad at him for destroying the planet.
Cybertron was dead, that's the entire point of taking Earth's resources (By Cyber-forming it too like the Seed.) in the first place. Taking Lockdown's account however (with no deep bullshit theories that actually has no meaning in practical terms), the Creators are just critically conservative in the mixed coexistence of Cybertronians with Earthly Organics. If what this quote chain thinks were all to be taken in mind of the Writer Crew, that would mean the Quintessons should have intercepted the Allspark war, except they probably didn't considering Bay-Continuity history.
We find Optimus Prime innocent of his crimes against the Quintesson empire. *drops Optimus in the sharkticon pit* Just because Cybertron was barren doesn't kill the theory, the Quintessons didn't seem to care that much about their creations or what they were doing until they destroyed a planet. I see it as a parent giving their kid a toy, the kid may be a little rough with the toy and the parent may or may not mind. If the kid happens to destroy the toy, I'm sure the parent would be mad even though they did give the kid the toy.
My reckoning is that its partially intact.....i think that what had passed through the space bridge (wormhole) merely was sucked back into it lost forever. So yes i think it would have been disastrous for the movie timeline if they killed it off entirely as that creates a dead end....a finality within the franchise that considering its rooted in supposed realism would make it difficult for any future expanding of the franchise....so my conclusion...cybertron lives!! Wounded but very much alive and well
That's why I attempted to speak for a Bayformers Canon point of view, and removing far fetched hypothesis aside and attempting to take pure account into the narratives of the Characters. That's why they're called "theories" it can be exchanged with "fanon" Golden Rule. EDIT The reason why Quintessons haven't reacted is actually because they haven't been thought of conceptually until the fourth movie (Obvious.) Bay is not comparable to some Japanese Manga Artist who plans some interesting plot from the beginning of his series. That's the point as I said considering the continuity patterns and nature of these movies as everyone else knows. If we take account into fanon though, the gap between the Mesozoic extinction and to Present day AoE era is millions of years, therefore Quintessons have evolved and advanced in technology since then, I scratch my head if they were to care about one of the many Cyberformed planets since they probably upgraded their Cyberforming technology. But I guess I'm just speaking technicalities now am I?
