You know what was a cool scene in TF1?? The part where Simmons is showing off Megatron on ice, and says that they call him "NBE-1. Non-biological Entity 1." And Sam says, "Nope. He's called Megatron." And then later when Megs thaws out and roars out, "I AM MEGATRON!!"

That was badass. It's like, little tiny fleshbag monkey people don't get to name Megatron. He names himself. Which is why I thought it was odd in AOE that he's cool with the name Galvatron, given to him by humans. I would've loved it if they just slapped all the toy marketing in the face and had him come out and say, "No. I AM STILL MEGATRON!!!"

Clean break, fresh start, got some new tricks, new looks, shit son, Megatron throwing out the old and bringing in the new and with the new comes this bitching sweet name.

Maybe given by humans but damn his whole body given by humans, Megatron's a bit more acceptant these days, he's cool like that- STILL GONNA KILL US ALL THOUGH.

Pheww, thought this was gonna be, "HE SHOULD BE MOTORMASTER". But considering they're man made controlled units, they should have named him 'Unit 1' and Stinger, 'Unit 2'

Ya I don't get the whole galvatron thing. So he dies and comes back as megatron but becomes a sentient head and transfers his brain to another body and was like f$&k it I'm changing my name.

Like the mighty Lord Megatron would give a shit about the fleshlings, the body wasn't built for him.
He used the insecticons to 'infest' it.

It'd be funny if it just turned out he liked "Galvatron."

Well, no. Unless you believe all human-made products are referred to as "units."

Remember, they were marketting these things. Stinger was in a showroom. Unless you forgot that.

"We shall meet again Prime, for I am reborn". - Kinda implies that, now that you mention it. But he essentially is Megatron though?

Transformers Script - transcript from the screenplay and/or the Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox movie
It is implied with Frenzy's virus they can create AI programs.

Megatron copy pasted himself over five times to the Galvatrons.

Ever since TF1 I think Megatron tried to infect Archibald Witwicky with a virus. Which is why he went crazy drawing Allspark symbols. Thing there are compatibility issues since he is an organic.

Well they did kind of point out that he was manipulating the humans. Making them think they were in control when it was really him in control the whole time. Maybe HE choose the name Galvatron.

When you really think about it, the guy said he designed Galvatron to look like Optimus Prime. So why give him a name that sounds so much like Megatron. They named their version of Bumblebee, Stinger. Actual bumblebee's have stingers so the name change actually makes sense there that humans would come up with that. But going from Optimus Prime to Galvatron? Does that really sound like something the humans came up with?

He also complained about how Galvatron kept coming out looking like Megatron because again, he was suppose to be designed to look like Optimus Prime. Considering the system kept glitching out to keep Megatron's design, I wouldn't be surprised if the name Galvatron just showed up on their computer monitors and they decided to keep it. I think they name they choose would of been something closer to Optimus Prime had they actually been in control.

Reborn as someone else, I guess. Reincarnated as someone similar, who has Megatron's memories and personality, but isn't exactly the original Megatron either.

Megatron's dead, his head was probably implanting after-images into Galvatron, not his personality directly.

I'm pretty sure Galvatron named himself. If you listened to Brain's exposition on Galvatron, he said Megatron manipulated the KSI workers, including giving him "a snazzy name like Galvatron" or something like that. Not sure of word to word exact, but he did straight up say Galvatron named himself that.

While I am not bioinformatics expert, but essentially our genes/DNA are programs. There is field of study dedicated to genomics, which basically allows our genes to be "reprogrammed" to alter our state.

I already addressed that realistically Megatron wasn't really "manipulating" anyone, KSI used his genome, memories along with every other Con with the help of Brains without some superstitious badass "manipulation". Megatron only used them. He was just at the right place at the right time.

Realistically... you're right... It's kinda hard to sit there as a lifeless hunk of metal... or pretending to be lifeless... and make people do what you want without drawing attention to yourself. And to make matters even worse, making them think that it was their idea the whole time. It just doesn't work.

However, this is a movie about giant alien transforming robots from another planet... nothing about them is "realistic". If the movie says that he manipulated them to do what he wants, then he manipulated them to do what he wants. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that's not what happened.

To be perfectly honest. I don't like it either. In fact your explanation that he just happen to be in the right place at the right time actually makes a lot more sense. But it's not actually what happens so it doesn't matter if I like it more than the actual movie.

According to the movie, the humans never came up with the plan, Megatron did, he just manipulated them into carrying it out for him. That's officially what was stated in the movie and like it or not, no matter how much that makes no sense, it's what happened. Deal with it.
