    Spoilers of course here-

There were a few things said by the robots in Age of Extinction that I really didnt understand. On watching it again recently, I noticed those same things again and still had no idea why they said them.

I can't remember all the things I heard that sounded out of place, so if there are other examples you guys noticed, please drop them here to discuss.

Now let me say now that I did not check every post or read for hours to see if this has been mentioned before, and I am not bashing the movie, which I very much did like, so hopefully there is no reason to flame me all to hell.

Now, onto the 2 that come to mind. I'll add others if I remember.

Hound sort of playfully attacks Drift and it results in Drift having his sword to Hound's neck. Hound says "Oh please... Pull it. Please do it."
Did they not let Goodman see the scene or correctly describe the scene he was voicing? He seems to be talking as though Drift had a gun to his head.

At the end, Optimus cuts Lockdown in half and says "Honor, till the end".
    What??!
Whose honor we talkin bout here? His own honor after shooting a tiny human and backstabbing Lockdown? Lockdown's honor for refusing to give up his contract to bring in Optimus at the cost of his life? The few decent humans he was with that got his sword out of his gut?
    I didnt get it.

The writer said it didn't have to make sense, and if the writer states it dosnt have to make sense then it sort of answers that question so to speak

I thought he said "Do it" not "pull it."

Also, I have no idea why Optimus said "Honour till the end." It's like he has to say something stupid every movie, and since Optimus' dialogue actually made sense up until then, they had to squeeze in one last bit of nonsense.

I think he mean't in keeping with his mission to protect Humans no matter what. (like he did when he killed the Grammer....plus that guy was a douche who had slaughtered his friends, it is the only time I would agree with Optimus killing a human).

So he kept his honour by continuing his mission, just like in the last three films.

That doesn't make sense why he'd say that then, like that, of all times.

Honor to the end - I think it means he chose to save Cade at the risk of his own life, in return for Cade having done the same for him (with Savoy and with Lockdown).

Hound-Drift - I think they were just messing with each other.

agreed. thought it was also maybe a little jab at Lockdown who specialized in doing everything without honor. Firing from away, using humans to flush out enemies, working with humans to take out his own kind, yada yada

Also, if Prime really wanted too he could have called in the Dinos to squash Lockdown with one foot

Probably best not think about it.

Hound and Drift were just having a tumble.

    This is actually true.
I think bay throws in lines that werent in the script with very little thought sometimes.

Well then that seems like a really full of himself thing to say, and weird after shooting a human (who i agree deserved it) and backstabbing Lockdown.
Plus it wasn't Optimus' end there so it sounded like he meant Lockdown had Honor till the end... I dont know...

Yeah exactly. Lockdown and Honor do not go in the same sentence, so im lost on this one.

Optimus said that because earlier in the fight, after he gives up his advantage to save Cade, Lockdown says something to the effect of "You would rather save a human than yourself? You're a disgrace and you bring shame upon us all!"

And yeah, Hound said "Do it."

A friend of mine, who's a huge history nerd, said this about the whole knight thing:

    She later added:

That's what we think about the whole knight thing, especially towards the end of the movie.

As for Hound and Drift...I was a lil thrown off too, I also could've swore he said pull it.

He did say "Oh please pull it... Please do it".

And that answer about the "Honor" was the best I've heard. Thanks! But it is also maybe a bit too complex to expect the viewer to easily make sense of it.

Yeah I really enjoyed reading that! Makes the scenes more interesting to me, although I'm 100% certain that your friend thought it through way more than the filmmakers did ;)

That actually makes more sense than it should. The line still seems weird.

It's like the movies are full of unintentional logic that you really can't put on the creators but hey it actually lines up somewhat.

I really like that knight theory as well, one thing though. Wouldn't Optimus be the fallen/errant knight in this situation and not Lockdown? Lockdown is the one who's being obedient to his creators Optimus and the dinos are the "rebel scum, worst of the worst" who haven't been doing what they've been told, no?

I don't think he would have done that. That was his fight and he wanted to fight it alone. That's why when the humans try to help he gets mad and yells "this is MY fight!". Maybe he was being arrogant and ungrateful, or maybe that's just his idea of winning with honor, a 1v1 duel with no help from anyone (which connects to the knight theory).

Now that I'm starting to think about it, this actually makes sense. Lockdown might have been sent by the Creators to hunt down all the "rebel knights" that escaped Cybertron to save themselves and he's supposed to bring them alive. That's why the Dinobots were captured inside Lockdown's ship and now he just needed to catch Optimus.

I totally agree that was my point, if he just wanted LD dead that's all he really had to do, but like you said it was his fight and we all know what I posted wouldn't be an option for prime

    agreed

He didn't say pull it. He said if Hound have him a reason to fight him, he do it. As for the part about Optimus saying, "honor until the end", he said that because he saved the humans which was honorable

    Wrongo. Exact words were-

Hound- "Cut the crap before I drop a grenade down your throat."
Drift- "Try it. You'll be dead"
Hound- "Oh please pull it. Please do it."
