    It's a vortex grinder like devastator has. This one is smaller so it has less suction, but gets the same grinding power. The reason it's glowing orange is indeed because it is heated, but it is not a generator: rather, it is being heated so that it can destroy more effectively by partially melting things that go in there, making them more susceptible to being shredded (easier to cut apart a goopy thing than it is to cut solid metal).

    Wow, I worded that terribly. Meh.

    probably absorbs some of the stuff that goes through his chest and converts it into energy.

    Maybe it has something to do with the allspark piece.
