I know right. I was just on boxofficemojo.com looking at all the movies that AOE has already out grossed and it's just mind blowing quite frankly

The fact Bay himself is essentially immune to the critics, and the films themselves are immune to the critics is why I like him so much.

Sure, his films aren't masterpieces of story-telling, acting, or pacing. But they're exactly what I expect to see from him. Awesome, semi-mindless summer blockbuster action films. And he's never failed to deliver on that.

Haha! Transformers AOE made in one weekend what Pacific Rim took in TOTAL for its domestic gross. LOL.

Doesn't really say much about they movie, so much as the advertising, and the Transformers franchise, so I will hate on and suck nothing. I don't think that there was any doubt that Transformers would be the highest grossing movie of the year. That doesn't mean that it's the best movie of the year, or even good. I just means that it was marketed well. I don't know if Michael Bay is responsible for putting together the trailers and commercials, but whoever did deserves an academy award. I am someone that didn't even remotely like the first three movies, and the trailers were getting me really excited about this movie, even though I knew that I wouldn't like it. I'm still getting that Imagine Dragons song stuck in my head. Do I consider Michael Bay to be a great director, no, I do not. But, is he good at his job, hells yeah. He can fill a theatre. He is a business man that makes a lot of money for his company.

    Totally expected.

I went to an early afternoon showing to avoid excessive crowds and it really demonstrated why these movies keep doing so well.

The theatre was still full, even in the middle of the day, and the demographics were all over the place. There were two middle aged women out for a movie-date sitting next to me. In their 50's, came to watch Transformers on a saturday afternoon - by themselves. No grandkids, no males with them. And they were laughing and loving it.

Hopefully the massive success compared to that movie will keep Bay doing what he's doing. I really REALLY do not want a fucking cityformer....I hate the concept. As long as Bay doesn't receive pressure to "out-size" something like Godzilla or Pacific Rim, I am happy.

    That's even worse.

But it's not Unicron, we already know that. "Creators" was plural throughout the whole film. It's either the Quintessons or the Vok.
