Ok can we all get back to talking about the new stuff seen in the spot and not let those that want to complain, bring this thread into nothing by complaining? Please?

That dancing scene was freaking awesome! I'm guessing that's what they're all doing when Optimus and Cade have their "faith" talk.

As for this whole debate/argument about the "goofiness": As others have said, what one might call goofy may be merely amusing to another person, this discussion merely hammers that point home. Personally, I don't think any of the "goofy" scenes discussed were goofy at all, but amusing and entertaining because it gives the Autobots characterization (Hound flicking that shell casing at Tucci's character is more of a "whatever" reaction to Tucci saying "it's over") and the dancing scene has the Autobots basically forging a new bond with their new human allies. I thought the other scenes from the previous movies (i.e. the whole new girlfriend scene from the beginning of DOTM, dog humping, "Wheelie humping", make-out session with Decepticon, "enemy scrotum", boxer scenes, etc.) were very cringe-worthy and unnecessary, stabs at attempts of humor that didn't really work for me or anyone I knew.

Granted, they did say that this would be a "darker" movie, but you still need some humorous moments, otherwise people would complain that it was "too dark" or "too grim".

That looks like the old concert/theater house that they filmed in in Chicago.

it definitely does add more character, not just to bumblebee, but to all of them.

hound is trying to dance, drift is bobbing his head, and crosshairs is sitting there with a stick up his ass lol.

plus. these parts weren't just put in for kids.. these parts were put in so that people with a sense of humor can have a laugh.

    agreed.

Yeah, I wish we could watch a movie of rainbow coloured robots riding fire breathing robot dinosaurs and fighting bounty hunters with gun-faces seriously.

This Tv spot made my day! Anyone who says the bots wont get characterization like the last 3 JUST got proven 100% wrong. In this tv spot ALONE the bots have more personality than in ANY of the last 3 movies COMBINED. For the first time since the first movie, the bots legit feel like actual characters. CHARACTERS. NOT the military's alien pets. I swear to God thats the thing i seriously HATED about the last 3 films, is that the autobots were part of NEST. Despite popular opinion, I found NEST very annoying. They straight up stole the autobot's screentime. I mean christ, ROTF's climatic battle was nothing but military vs decepticons with autobots somewhere in the background.

Then in DOTM, I specifically remember Bay saying "less military involvement, and Chicago is left up to the bots"...what he forgot to say, is that its left up to sam, epps and his team, then NEST, THEN the bots come in for like, what, less than 10 minutes left in the film?? Give me a fucking break.

Here it really feels like the absence of NEST is what it takes to have a TF film with TF characterization. All you need is the main human characters who first meet the TFs and thats it.

Now the humor....seriously? I mean seriously? :banghead:  I get that it's your opinion, you want the movie to be straight up dark the whole way through, but guess what? This isn't the dark night, or man of steel its fucking TRANSFORMERS. It's always had humor one way or the other, and by the way, who. gives. a. shit. what Bay and crew said about it being "less goofy". IMO he's still not wrong. So far, Bee and Hound dancing is the only goofy thing we've seen so far, and it actually works! It really comes off more that the bots are fun to be around, instead of being nothing but killing machines used by the military to get shit done. and By the way, every movie, no matter what, needs humor thrown in there somewhere, ESPECIALLY a summer blockbuster. Honestly this is the 4th movie in, you know what to expect. And props to Bay because, guess what? This one, ......are you ready for this.....IS. ACTUALLY. DIFFERENT. Just because ROTF left a bad taste and everyone's mouth doesn't mean any of Bay's future TF movies will always be bad. Give the guy a damn break.

i just love how they're opening up this universe to new possibilities.. lockdowns employer.. the creatures on his ship.. the wolves.. the robots that are with him.. human made transformers.. stingers transformation.. dinobots..

i mean.. this is unbelievably interesting.

i can't wait to see the explanation for the dinobots. and i can't wait to find out what exactly lockdown is after, why he's after it (him), and what his intentions are.

If I'm forced to even crack a slight smile, that's it, I'm getting up and marching straight out of that cinema. What do they think this is supposed to be? Borat with robots or summit?

I like Hound in these 20 seconds spots more than I ever liked Skids and Mudflap in an entire god damn movie.

    i totally agree with you.

plus, it seems like we're getting more robot to robot interaction.

with the other movies, besides a couple scenes, most of the time a robot spoke, they were talking to the humans.. they didn't really interact with each other besides a few lines. hopefully we'll get a decent amount of them talking to each other.

Awwww, what film is it where John Goodman's dancing a little dad dance like Hound is there, and he's trying to encourage someone to dance with him but she's not having it? Is it Coyote Ugly? Anyway, I hope they homage that with Hound trying to coax Crosshairs into having a dance too.

John Goodman proves again how great he is, I'm loving him as Hound. Design wise at the start I would have liked a slimmer and taller Hound but this portrayal is totally winning me over.

Abandoning the team up with gi....I mean nest has been for the benefit it seems. Robots look to be getting more screen time but I'm not going to hold my breath that they'll run the movie as they should. It makes me somewhat sad that Ironhide won't be involved as it would have been great to see him get a chance to interact and do way more.

I'm liking Crosshairs, his look, his attitude and his voice. It sounds very di maggio and sounds like a cross between marcus fenix and an Australian accent which I'm happy with.

Only complaint I have about the movie is mark ryan voicing lockdown.

Bumblebee urinating was hilarious, Simmons deserved it because he was being a douche & it's a cool thing that I never would have thought of.

Devastator's balls was pushing it but I still laughed. And it was only a few seconds, not like it was a major plot point that took up half the movie.

The twins were hilarious, I thought I was going to hate them but I ended up loving them. Especially when they were picking on Leo. You hair looks like a Chia Pet! I love ROTF!

And for the trillionth time, this is a KIDS movie based on a KIDS toy line! Why do the Transformers fans have such a huge stick up their ass? The jokes were funny, the movies made billions & we got 4 movies to keep us busy for the past 8 years. WHY CAN'T YOU BE HAPPY ABOUT THAT? Is there a name for what's wrong with you because I hope I never catch whatever you have.

The GI Joe fans got stuck with a huge ball of suck & fail. The toy stores won't even carry GI Joe anymore & the line is dead. Would you honestly prefer to be in their shoes? Or would you prefer to be in the Thundercats fans shoes?

You guys need to appreciate what you have. The TF fans got it made!

Cant really agree with you on that point - at the moment the only interactions visible points in the trailer seem to show pretty much the same level of robot-to-robot interaction. Pretty much only two scenes in the trailer are robot-to-robot (Optimus talking to Lockdown, The Autobots meeting with each other)

The film will likely include more, especially due to the extended runtime. But I felt Sentinel and Optimus had more robot-to-robot interaction than can possibly be topped in this film.

Would make sense - given Bay admitted to watching Animated and the writer of the films is taking from other versions of the Transformers media.

Who said you can't? You can but you must have a logical support to get people to take you seriously. Not to be mistaken as an insult, this is merely a broad statement to everyone (although some people who dislike it have provided good back up for what they think).
