I don't know or think we'll get Unicron, or an over-reaching big bad. At most, just a new Decepticon who'll be the sequel's boss to fight.

DOTM really could have used one.

 

If they are like me, most people gotta piss a storm after a move (especially 3D. Something about it just makes me run). Most "casuals" leave before the mid credits, some more mild fans stick around for the mid credits scene, and the more dedicated fans or constant moviegoers/critics know to stick it through to the end-whether you have a trip to the porcelain bowl during the endless credits is another story

 

Do we need one? This isn't Marvel, there's no need for every other studio to copy Marvel's formula. We're seeing this enough with Warner Bros, Sony, and Fox all trying to build their own 'cinematic universes'. Last thing we need is for Paramount to be trying to emulate the post-credits things. Yes they've done them before but The only one with any significance was Starscream in the first one, and even that really, didn't give you anything more than "Starscream survived and went into space".


Also, Cap 2's two post-credit scenes were way more informative than some seem to think. He's able to read up on himself and rediscover who he was. Great for those of us who know the character, for general audiences though it adds an air of mystery as to what'll happen next.

1 - sam's parents being interview by news reporters about "the govern hiding aliens" or somthing like that

roft - sam kissing mickaela on a date

dotm - simmons kissing Maring, and getting arrested because of it

 

Marvel was not the first to do the end credit scene. Even TF1 did it before them.

 

Its annoying how people get so annoyed with Unicron...if that makes sense. The guy is speculating, like others. Plus, Unicron is much more exciting than any other villain in my opinion atleast.

 

Its possible for sure, but Unicron seems to be the ultimate evil. The one thing that cant truly be stopped. It would be very cool to have a Unicron trilogy I think.

 

I agree with JayEm. I like Unicron and really want to see him in the movieverse, but his name being brought up constantly is annoying.

 

I think the fly that Sam killed in Revenge of the Fallen was not actually with the Decepticons but was a spy sent out by Unicron from the outer reaches of the universe.

I know he is speculating thank you. Also Unicron is not exciting because he is a planet sized TF who gets beat like a little bitch by Optimus Prime and the matrix. Just saying...in my opinion.

Well the marvel movies can always have a later scene (or two) thrown in at the end, because they have their grand scheme of movies while the transformers movies don't (minus the first one) because bay probably never intended to do another movie beside the first 2-3. I think we could be seeing after credits scenes if the future movies were planned earlier because again marvel always have the next one lined up while these ones generally don't

I think 4 definitely could though if they are trying to set a new trilogy up. But it could have been nice if they could have some random cgi clip or something at the end.

On a side topic and speculation on how many transformers movies there will be? First we were getting 1-3 now they've added 4-6 what's next?
