So how can Lockdown be a force for Prime to recon with?

And of course, his mysterious client.


Take those away, he'd probably not last too long in a fight, no more than any ordinary Con.

He's a big ol' cheater. He's a car, but becomes the same size as Optimus in robot mode, who's a giant-ass truck.

 

Well... in Transformers Animated as I recall he was still a big character despite turning into a muscle car. I believe the designers said at the time that this was intended and they worked a lot on the engineering of the figure so that he was a large robot figure that turned into a deceptively small car. And he was a pretty tall deluxe figure for sure. So I'm guessing they may do something similar in AoE. Though admittedly they may have to do some 'cheating' with his mass to get him to stack up to Optimus size wise.

 

Because he's the best at what he does, and what does isn't very nice.

 

He obviously has the long range advantage, but we have yet to see him close range, i hope he has a wicked Wing chun/JKD style, as i get that vibe from his walk.

 

smaller (and presumably faster) can be an advantage.

And there's no telling what sort of weapons Lockdown has up his sleeves (literally).

As for the size...that actually is a bit of bullshit. Lamborghini (mercy, yo chick she so thirsty, I'm in dat two seat Lockdown wit yo girl she tryna jerk me) seems to be a lot smaller than a Peterbilt-even BIG car-formers are still pretty damn small. I'll buy if he got a Z-Space mass transmogrification doo-dad off an old enemy, but otherwise I'm skeptical.

As far as the Op question, I don't think size really counts, lockdown could be a bit of a robot ninja (interesting if he fights drift), and after all, Prime took down demolisher pretty easily

 

I suspect he manages to gain control over the human vehicon army.

Despite that, haven't we learned that size doesn't matter? Look at Sideswipe, or Bee. Some of the smaller, craftier, more nimble bots go toe to toe with bigger enemies through the whole series fairly well.
