Hear me out for a minute. Ok, more than a minute lol As much as I know I'll love this movie, I can't help but think Bay might have once again missed a great opertinity to include some really great TFs. What I mean is, humans are creating TFs to protect Earth and humans from outside threats and potential new envisions. So what better way to get TFs back into the good graces of humanity all while telling humanity that "Oh yeah, these TFs are not from another planet but we made them! And they do for us and protect us from all that would do harm to us." Bay really could have made the human created TF the Protectobots or at least some of them anyway. And sure, when things go south for humans like they always do. And the majority of the human built TFs turn on humanity as its sure to happen. The Protectobots could stick to their true purposs of protecting those that need it and side with the real good guys, the Autobots.
I think there's been a lot of things I can name that Bay failed to exploit its full potential of. Putting that aside, yeah, I think those characteristics will be present, but not under the name Protectobots.
True. But off the top of my head the Protectobots would be the best TFs to add into a movie like this where humans are building TFs that are meant to protect humans lol. For that matter, they could have had the humans create the Combaticons too. Protectobots as the civil protectors an the Combaticons as the true military might that would be called in in the event of an all out envasion. Of course the Combaticons would be the ones to go Con and turn. But you see what I'm getting at. But instead, Bay just wants his cool fancy sports cars all the time.
Well if it's fancy cars we are talking then the Stunticons would be an awesome addition. I love Dead-end, Motormaster, and Dragstrip.
We have a Yellow car, A red car, A black car, And a White car(Cadillac)seen on set. I hope for Stunticons... As they really are on of the best Combiners ever.
With Galvatron looking so much like motomaster, and all the other (probably) human mades being mad sexy sports cars, I'm hoping they combine anyway, with Galvatron replacing motomaster as the traditional stunticon leader. Whoevers making the human-mades, could have got hold of the dead devastator and recovered combiner technology. Be a good fight for Grimlock!!

Eh, humans creating what are essentially the Stunticons, even if the names are different, seems more exciting to me. I think the writer's decision in that direction is great. The Protectobots really never interested me. I'm sure it could be pulled off in a good way though.
I don't know. I'm pretty satisfied with the new Autobot cast as it is (Dinobots, Hound, Drift, Crosshairs, and whoever the Sonic is). Adding Protectobots would mean way too many characters. I know Transformers fans want to see all of their favorite characters, but there are so many TF characters over the different continuities it isn't realistic to shoehorn every character or subgroup into a whole trilogy, let alone a single movie. I'd rather see the current crop of characters get attention. If the Protectobots show up at a later time, then that's great. Truthfully, while I do like the idea of human made Transformers for AOE, I kind of hope that future new Transformers in the trilogy are largely Cybertronian. Maybe there can be an Autobot or group of Autobots that are human-made, but I want it to be an exception rather than the rule. Now I do like Livingdeaddan's idea about the Protectobots turning Con. It would make them the opposite of Protectobots. Muahaha.
As a big fan of the Protectobots, I got to say: I'd be down with this. Especially if they merge, but it's not required at all. Hell, they can just repaint a Sentinel Prime into blue and black and call him Defensor and I'd be happy as a happy person getting something he likes. Doubly so if they give us the Prowl that's a cop car, a strategist, and a martial artist in one that they keep teasing us with since the original movie. But I wouldn't want them in AOE, too crowded. Now, for TF5, that I'd like. Also, I'd rather have them face off against the Stunticons. That team really fits the Protectobots better. Stunticons wreck stuff, Protectobots save and rescue, there's a connection there. Aerialbots, being four military jets and a concorde (normally, that is) faces off better against the military team of Combaticons to me.
I would love to see a combiner group in the movies. I would also love it it they worked and acted as a team. Having one of these combiner groups take out a big decepticon/autobot would be awesome. So far all we've gotten in the movies is Bee protecting the human cast, Prime off fighting the big baddie of the film, and the rest of the autobots and decepticons trading fire from wherever they are bunkered down at. I want to see the Stuntacons gang attack a Dinobot!
